thanks i'll look for the superdug one
any idea how much it is?0 -
I am finding this stuff fascinating. I have been given a £30 voucher for a local beauty salon and was thinking of trying a bikini wax. I have never had this done before and I want it done before my beach holiday in June. I was thinking I would have a trial run first in case it makes my skin red or sore. Is this a good idea? Also, as a previous poster asked, how long does the hair need to be? I go down the shaving route at the moment but do find it makes the area irritated and pimply looking.
What about upper lip waxing? Does this hurt or leave red marks. How long does this hair need to be for the waxing to be effective?0 -
I use noir in the little packets only 80p for 2 if you do use it and ya feel a tingle wash it off and there's no hairs left .
Never hold your farts in. They travel up your spine, into your brain, and that's where you get s****y ideas from.
Hello and good bye....

I'm not sure about length, 3-4mm maybe. You don't want it too long or it will pull (bikini)
TBH I hate having my top lip done at all, whether cream or wax It hurts (especially the middle bit just under your nose). The redness after waxing lasted a couple of hours with me and if you do have it done, dont go in the sun right away.LOL.
The reason I'm fancying a fairly extensive bikini wax is a)smooth and sensitive:T and b)I get the pimply red itchy rash with shaving and it grows back too quickly - itching me to death in the process.
I just gotta overcome my embarrassment.:wave:0 -
A brazilian is reallly painful, but apparently gets easier over time - the hairs get thinner naturally. I never went back for the second session, but only because of time/money - once I'd had the painful first experience over with I should really have continued with it!
Waxing your bikini line is pretty much the same, but less painful, It does get less painful over time, at the mo, I am using an epilator which is fine - less painful than the underarms!
Your beautician should make you feel perfectly comfortable, and just remember, for them it is just another bikini wax of hundreds. She should make sure you are warm (give you a sheet to cover the rest of your body with), and definitely ask you if the temp of the wax is ok for you - the last thing you want is a burnt nether area! :SWe got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.

I would rather have my bikini waxed (and I have it all off) that my legs. I just find my legs so painful. As a rule of thumb the longer the hair the more painful. Just a few mm is needed. Even though I get it all off I still leave my pants on, just move them about a bit.
Top lip. I do it myself. I bought a hot facial was pot from boots (about £6) which you heat, apply then when the wax dries whip it off. No strips and less painful than the strips. 1 treatment pays the cost of the pot.
Legs and underarms I use my eppilator, just not brave enought to use it on the nether regions.
Good luck and don't be embarrassed, some of the stories my beautician has told me would make your hair curl (pardon the pun) they have seen it all before:rotfl: l love this site!! :rotfl:0 -
Can I just add a word of warning, although the last thing I want to do is to put people off. So...research your salon really well. Ideally, use a salon that is recommended by friends and family. My first bikini waxing experience was awful as I didn't research the salon. I ended up with purple bruises on both sides with some blood spotting. Hideous. On the up side, I did get brave again (a good few years later) and go to another salon and it was fine.0

Not only research the salon, but the beautician. Ive had excellent results from a salon, then like Viktory have ended up bruised and bleeding as my regular beautician was off and I got the junior - still in college
Pattycake, go for top leg and bikini 24hrs- 48hrs before you fly. This will leave you hair free for the two weeks you are away and the 24/48 hours will give time for the redness to calm down - you do get the plucked chicken look for up to 24hrs after waxing. Also you cant take a bath after, nor should you apply fake tan or sunbathe for 24hrs after either.
As for length - not too long. Best thing is if you are using any other method of hair removal is to stop for 4/6 weeks before hand. This gives you a better chance of catching most of the hairs grown through, less chance of having some pop up a few days later. Then before you go for you wax just trim up with scissors.
Top lip can be bloody sore and left red looking. I find it too hit and miss and now use a cream although Ive used Boots wax strips with success in the past0 -
I've been going for brazilians for over a year now and have fortunately found a nice beautician who comforts the awkward factor! Also now the regrowth is very fine and hurts much less to wax off. I tried another girl in the same salon when my regular was on holiday and she was quicker, but more brutal, so it doesn't hurt to try someone else if you're not happy.Debt at LBM July 2013: [STRIKE]£46,085.88[/STRIKE] Debt today: £36,501.67
20.8% down, 79.2% to go!
The quicker I'm debt free, the quicker I'll be Mrs. H! Date to beat: April 20180
