I have been looking at Rio Scanning Laser Hair Removal kit but at £199 don't want to buy it if it doesn't work. Has anyone any experience with these? Many thanks.0

Hello Goodersuk
I'll move your thread to the 'Health & Beauty' board.
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. I have just made an appointment at sk:nclinic.com and wondered if anyone else had hair removal treatments there?

Im looking to get my legs lasered soon but I am going to get it done through the winter months as I believe you can't have any tan on them during treatment.
Did anyone see embarressing illnesses on telly last night? There was a poor woman who had facial hair really bad and had hair on her chest , shoulders and stomach as well as the usual places. After two sessions of laser treatments she was like a different woman. The problem was much better but up to six treatments were advised.
As its such a newish treatment there aren't many people who have had it to get advice off but anything that leaves you hair free for more than a couple of weeks is worth looking into as far as Im concerned. I don't think women who don't have the problem of superfluous hair realise just how much it can control your life, especially though the summer months.
You have to think what you can wear all the time depending on the state of your legs and swimming has to be planned in advance.
Oh to be able to just decide at a moments notice to go swimming or to lay in the sun. :rolleyes:Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -
Hi,
I have an epilator and find that it doesn't remove the hair at the root but annoyingly it tends to snap just above my skin so im always left with stubbly feeling legs!! Anyone know why this is and how to stop it??
Helen x
Mine worked brilliantly when it was new, but after about a year I had the same problem. I think the spinny things (what are they actually called? lol) must lose their grip after x amount of uses or somethingBulletproof0 -

I've had my legs lasered and that worked really well (3 treatments). They also threw in some chin and upper lip treatment which hasn't worked at all so I continue with wax or epilator on those areas.
My daughter is very dark haired and she is keen to have some laser treatment - I noticed that Amazon sell a Rio laser kit for £189 and wondered whether that might be a good investment. It's only had 1 review but got 5 stars.
Has anyone tried one of these machines? Thought it might be ok for smaller areas such as face/back/tummy.0 -
I really wanted to watch that last night, but missed it. Did they show any other options apart from laser treatment?
No just the laser treatment. Apparently the woman had tried everything else including electrolosis.
I have electrolosis on on a few strong facial hairs but its a long process and hair has to be of a certain length to be able to treat. Ive been having it for a couple of years and I only get the occasional growth now on the chin area.
At ten pouds a month I dont think its a cheap option but don't know what lasering would cost for the same area.Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -

Did they say why it didn't work on the facial area? I was always told by my electrolosis not to wax faicial hair as it eventually grows back stronger. Don't know if there is any truth in this?Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -

No - they didn't but I still get hair growth - although admittedly much lighter on my upper lip but I get virtually none on my legs - and I had it done about 3 years ago now.
I recently got one of the Braun epilators which has separate attachments for leg and face - when I feel very brave I use it on my upper lip!0
