My daughter (adult!0 wishes to get this done as she comes out in bumps that dont go after away after waxing. Shaving is a bit gross too..so I wondered if any of you had tried either laser or electrolysis "down there"?!
Any ideas on which is best and the possible cost would be great. Thanks!

    I'd go for laser.

Electrolysis will take ages - with laser, you can do all the follicles in one go, but will electrolysis you need to do each follicle seperately and so can only do a limited selection in each session. You will probably need a few sessions with laser to ensure that all the follicles have been treated in the right stage, but many, many more in electrolysis.

Electrolysis is fab for smaller areas, like upper lip though :)
  • Laser, its the best option and works for most people where as electrolysis seems to be a bit hit or miss.

I have had laser and been very happy with it. I use skin clinc and very happy with them highly recommended, I had emails from them last week about offers so worth checking them out to get a good deal.

  • I'm having laser hair removal with sk:n clinic just now; I've had four treatments out of six. I find it so painful on my bikini line I'm not sure I'd recommend it to be honest (legs and armpits aren't so bad). It's effective, but it won't remove 100% of hair. I might go for electolysis to remove any leftover hair.

Sk:n are offering 6 treatments for £525 (standard binkini line) or £700 (full bikini). I paid just short of £1200 for binkini, lower legs + underarms.
  • Tell her to buy the new i-pulse in Boots. Its fab technology which can be used in the privacy of your home once a week. I have had great results with it and have large bald patches on my lower legs from only using this machine 3 times on this area so far. Salons charge so much and it's scary how much I have spent in the last 9 yrs on laser treatments & top-up treatments, you can get the same results from this home device for £250, the headunit will fire 10,000 shots before needing replacing.

A relative of mine has had electrolosis a few times a year for 45-50 yrs and it has never been perm.

    Hi guys

Quick question: I have run out of the little 'wipes' that comes with thewax strips that remove that horrible sticky residue after the painful part!!!!! Not sure what else would do the job, have tried white vinegar, soap and water, baby wipes/ face wipes and they just doesn't do the job! Even tried nail varnish remover!!!

    Any suggestions? Thanks muchly

    Hi Crawley girl,

As far as I know, the wipes are just impregnanted with baby oil, so if you have baby oil, or massage oil, you could try putting that on some cotton eool and using it that way. Works for me!

I believe the main ingredient in the wax remover in a bottle is liquid paraffin..aka baby oil.
