Another one MIA... for good reasons!
Been up to N of Scotland for 2 short breaks, two nights and then three nights with two weeks of work in between. Was walking mainly, adding to my pebble collection (fab beaches) and seeing dolphins from the shore and red squirrels in the woods - magical! All done MSE with packed lunches, tea bags, flasks etc. Had fish and chips one night - delicious!
This was the furthest I have been afield since my health collapsed in 2007/8. One afternoon I managed a 3 or 4 mile walk up craggy hill and down dale, with no real repercussions, so I'm feeling more confident that I can now trust my body to respond well to a wee bit exercise - so will find a healthy walking group locally and get out there a bit more. Time also for some yoga on a daily basis, just enough to get stretching and a bit more supple.
Public holiday today, and back to work tomorrow.
Horace, well done on your move - sorry you had that heart-stopping experience with your father falling - mega stressful for you all. I wish you much happiness in your new home.
Hugs to Marru and will send positive vibes for things getting sorted out re the legal process. Re the Freegle/dump/charity shop process - it seems endless but you'll eventually start seeing more space! I was amazed how long it took to get my belongings down to manageable proportions! But it's amazing what people will take on Freegle! If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Summer is usually a quieter time on the forums, although I don't think the weather has had much of a positive impact so far this year.
I've been off honeymooning and now getting back into "normal" life but OH and I have had a bit of a re-evaluation of what we're doing and why. Can't say much more at the moment but will explain when I can.No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -

Congratulations Marru:j:beer:
I have been MIA again - partly due to too much going on and getting nagged by mother. I got seriously nagged by her yesterday and was told that I should be up at 7.30am have breakfast and then crack on with work. Erm...I was up at 7am, had my breakfast, vacuumed the lounge/diner, washed up, baked a cake from scratch, cleaned the bathroom and all before she arrived at 10am:D I had the pair of them back in the afternoon as dad built a tv table for me (although my tv is too heavy for it) so I will have to wait until I get a new TV. He put up a blind in the bathroom and the offcut was cut up to provide some linings to the shelves of the cabinet that he fell down the stairs with last week. The bottom was cracked so mum lined it with a piece of vinyl and I have cut a piece of blind and put it over the top of the vinyl..it looks quite swish now.
I must crack on with the unpacking and really need to sort out my 2nd bedroom as I am surrounded by boxes...as soon as I find a home for everything and get it cleared then I can get my furniture from ex OH.
I went to see my parents at the weekend - mum cooked dinner and we had homegrown spuds too. We bought some things for the house e.g. new blind and a magnifying mirror for the bathroom (I needed something free standing to assist with putting my makeup on). I came home loaded with stuff - I was around there again the other day as I had been instructed to go to a certain charity shop and look at an Ercol 1960's sideboard which hopefully will be making its way into my dining room. Dad seems ok and is still being stubborn about going to the hospital to get checked out. As I was leaving mum said that she had something for me - something that she found in the kitchen cupboards here, she handed me a pile of teatowels and embroidered tray cloths which she had washed, starched and ironed. I love tray cloths and already have quite a collection and always look out for them in charity shops - they are great on top of sideboards etc for putting glassware on. I like all these freebies that have been left behind - at the weekend I will be teaching myself to use the Qualcast electric lawnmower which had been left in the shed too.0 -
