  • I have just withdrew money from paypal from ebay sales, but some of it is about to be paid to my local butcher so he can see if I have an infection around my wisdom tooth! Currently on the waiting list to have it removed, but to be honest, would pay anything to have this pain away! I'm at the cut my own head off stage with the pain!!!! Still! Debt busting going ok, but having an ebay break as flying home for a few days on thursday! Just got the last of the parcels to post, then when I have my wee holiday will be all motivated to start more debt busting!

    Well done bpsp10! :j

Well we're officially off the ground with 1% - at last.

Took the evening job I mentioned last week and start tonight. Feel strangely nervous about it...guess working at home for a year has impacted on my confidence a bit. Anyway, it will really help us get our %s moving and I plan to have my wages paid into an account with an overdraft we are clearing.

    Hi all :)

I am now up and running!

    So far I have:
    • Read the whole thread and picked up some fantastic ideas as well as lots of inspiration
    • Sorted myself out a cashbox, little envelopes for each % and drawn up a % grid
    • Raided purse and change pots in house no longer using - 1%
    • Phoned bank to decrease O/D by £100 as we were not at the limit and I don't want any temptation - 5%
    So I am at 6%

    To do this week:
    • Finish notebook of ideas and get cracking on a few - mainly getting set up on survery sites
    • Start ebay list. I want at least 10% from ebay sales and to make it more mangeable I am going to do it in 10x 1% chunks. 1% for me is £20 so I am aiming to get 10 piles of things, each pile to have a combined start price of £20. Hopefully the items will go for more but this will then take anything in to account any items that refuse to budge! This is going to be quite a challenge as I have had several bouts of ebay selling recently.
    • First 1% ebay pile to list - 2x shoes at £5 each and a nearly new baby toy thingy at £10
Fingers crossed for a good week :)

  • Well I have been lurking for a while. Have today decided to join in with the challenge. To make it easier for myself I am going to focus on just one debt at a time.
    Credit Card 1200.00 so 1% =12.00
My usual payment has been approx 3% (36.00) and the balance is on 0% until 1st Feb 2013. Want to make sure it is well paid off by then but hoping to get it down before Xmas really.

This week I have started the laborious task of ebay listing...

I have a payment of 54.00 due from a temp delivery job(which I will round up to 60 to make 5%)

I have 3 bin bags of clothes not good enough to sell/for charity shop to take to cash for clothes

I am comtemplating the possibility of making crafty things to sell...don't really know where to start in terms of selling them at a craft fair/how you get involved but I am good at making things- did all my friends wedding table decorations/order of service/favors etc

Evening! Well im pleased to say i have my first bid (£3) on ebay this week and a few watchers. They end Weds so hopefully get some more interest then. Im still waiting on a £10ish payment from an Ebay item too. Got some bits to list tonight too, mostly 99p items but better than nothing!

on 46% now for debt two, hoping for 50% by the end of the week atleast. Then i have about 7 weeks left to find the other 50%

Paid my post office the postage fees, budgeted £70 and it was just shy of £67 so thats £3 im going to note down, anything else i come under budget for will be noted down and each week ill put that towards savings (unless i go over budget :()

Going to speak to the husband about what we can put down on the CC and re-adjust the figure on that, currently its at 9% but it might be more realistically 12% when we pay just above minimum this month x

  • Evening everyone, hope you've all had a lovely day! Well I can finally report a % paid to get us off the starting blocks!

    99 - 6.64%

I can hardly believe we just paid an additional £1109 off our debts in addition to the £400 that we already pay onto our credit cards and it's all because of this challenge. I can't thank all of you guys enough for posting your progress and motivating me to keep on track. It's so surprising how the mentality is different now I'm thinking in %'s. It no longer feels like we've a mountain to climb, it's more like a big hill!!! The plan is to pay a little more than last month as we've both worked lots of overtime last month which will be paid this month. I also got paid less last month due to HMRC not updating my tax code so should be an additional £130 better off this month. We could do with having a clear out if we can find the time as the spare room has recently turned into a dumping ground and there's so much stuff going to waste. I'm setting a goal to pay 8% off this month. We may not reach it but as they say if you aim for the moon you'll fall among the stars!

    Happy %ing everyone x x

  • My paypal balance is getting ever closer to that elusive 1% :) I have withdrawn a small amount to make up a percent, so I've actually now made £100 selling crafting things on ebay :) And for once I haven't frittered it all away! Want to get another square coloured in at least before payday - will finish off my orange row quite nicely :D

  • Just been flitting through the internet and came across www.craftsuprint.com They say that you can list any craft items for free in the section on their forum - not sure if this could be of use to anyone - it could save expense ebay final value fees?

Just been listing more on ebay but not sure if I am wasting my time as none of my last lot sold at all - not even for 99p!
Seems more are listing than buying these days.
