Had a tough couple of months though.
However, Im back and I want this debt gone!!! I've decided to concentrate on one debt at a time so the first one to concentrate on is Vanquis. My 1% is £5. Off to look at the first page for inspiration!£20 a day April 2014 £834.87/£600 :j

Totally off topic - sorry! But I just want to get off my chest.... Found out today that DS2 (3 yrs) will need surgery to correct a problem 'downstairs'. Not life threatening or anything but I'm half releived that it's been sorted out at last but also pretty anxious about general anesthetic etc....
Watching paralympic ceremony and drinking wine - not V diet friendly - must try to avoid the ice cream in freezer...
Aw hope the op goes well. I know what you mean being relieved/anxious at the same time! It will be better for him in the long run though, keep thinking of that
Well ive listed 6 maternity trousers on ebay that are too small. Within 20 mins i already have a bid on 1 :T Got to relist some bits that didnt sell last week and sort out a few more bits to list.
We've not been paid yet, it should be sometime today. So will be able to add a figure this evening when weve looked at our expenses this month

I've just paid £81 to my credit card - it was going to be £80 but decided to add another pound so it brings the percentage to a full 3%.

Got some bits on ebay so hoping to add another % next week. Fingers crossed!0 -
I'm very happy. Found some odd bits of gold, took it into a shop today and got £200. Which means:
105 - 20%
Also, managed to get 55 bits on ebay so far. Mostly 99p stuff but it all counts and I got a call this morning offering me some extra work next week which will be another £80. It's all coming together!
Can not wait to get this cleared. I'm going to use the same principle after to save to take my boys to Lapland. I'll price it up and work out the 1% and start again! Can I rejoin with a new amount at that time?Member 105 of 1% at a time - 23/100 :j0 -
Well done everyone - Little Miss you are brilliant coming up with 1% idea - it really does help everyone so big hugs for you
Sorry to hear about your son liz-paul - my thoughts are with you and your family.
Well I've just got a bit of good news - we changed energy suppliers in March 2011 and today I received a letter from asking me to contact them regarding closing the old account. I phoned up and was ready to give thema good blasting about not owing any money to them when I was advised that I am owed a refund of £63 - :j So when the cheque arrives it will be added straight to savings account and give me another 2%
I've also just signed up for another campaign which will give me £3 of vouchers for items at Tesco - every little helps xxMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
Hi all - I'd like to join please if I may?
I stumbled upon this thread by accident and think it is fantastic! I have a overdraft on mine and DH's current account of £2000 that I am desperate to get rid of.
I'm currently on maternity leave and only receiving SMP so money is tight at the moment requiring careful budgeting. We also have several saving pots - xmas, new washing machine and a big (read expensive!) item for the little one. As such, I can't clear the overdraft as I have done before, reducing it by £100 a month when we get paid. But thinking of it in % - £20 a time - is much much more manageable! I'd love to get rid of it by April when I return to work part time but realistically I will aim for 50% by then.
So my plan for the next few days is to read through the thread, write down ideas suitable to me, sort out a cashbox...and add the challenge to my signature!
