    Finally at.....

    20 percent!!!!

Hurrah :) £50 paypal transfer finally hit my account so that's gone straight into the ISA. I'm a fifth of the way there :) 7 days til payday too, woohoo :) 5 shopping days in my next pay period though so got to put a bit extra to the groceries; however we are eating our way through the freezer- got rid of loads of stuff that's been lurking in there for just about forever! Should just about make it through the month in the black which I'm pleased about :)

  • Hi everyone!

I managed to sell some stuff on Amazon but not quite enough for a % yet!

I have a Wii that I need to sell (as I never use it!) and wondered what you think would get the best price- eBay, amazon or gumtree?

Me too, interested to hear what people think! I only ever use EBay of those you mentioned.

    Evening everyone!

Another small sale on ebay, woop! I've also just set up a new email account for comping, should try spend a little time on that each night instead of checking out facebook :D

I've now got 50 items listed up on ebay. Really that's all I've been doing at the moment. I'm not sure I'll be able to find 100 different ways to make up percents! As it stands my ways to make %s are:

    1. ebay
    2. musicmagpie/webuybooks/zapper/fatbrain etc for the stack of books, cds & dvds that won't be read/watched/listened to again.
    3. Put in a claim for PPI
    4. When I'm out of my OD put what would've been spent on monthly charges into the pot instead. I don't have the money now so I technically shouldn't miss it!
    5. Cut back on my socialising. I've gone from doing nothing to doing lots, which is good for meeting people and enjoying myself but it doesn't need to be every weekend and there are cheaper ways to do it. For each weekend I have a "quiet one" what I'd normally spend (not a percent but a fair chunk once taxi & entry fees are taken into account) will go into the pot too.
    6. At least 6 hours of SE work a week to try and bring my income back up a bit!
    7. Use coupons and put the cash equivalent into my sealed tin
    8. 10p and less change into the sealed tin at the end of the week
    9. See about overtime at work
    10. Check out fivesquids
    11. Weigh the few bits of silver I have and see what I'll get
    12. Comping a little every evening & at the weekend.

There are some other things I'm attempting to do like getting back into having NSDs, taking my lunch to work, which is really just about managing my money better rather than earning extra so I won't list them here.

I've not got time at the moment (should really be in bed!) to go through the 40 or so pages to see others moneymaking ideas. Do any of you have links to your lists?

    Number 91 checking in.

So inspiring hearing how well everyone is doing, I keep checking everyday.

I've had a little change of Plan with my funds and have decided to pick just one to concentrate on. So my 1% is now just £30. I've had some luck on eBay and have also started PADing. I have a set budget of £10 per day so any NSD I have the £10 gets put into the savings. Though this month I have had to put it against the CC as I brought some new work shoes and Paralympic tickets. I'm still waiting on £45 for those from family members but if I can pay the CC off by PADing before I get the money from them then their money goes straight into the % pot!

Gutted I missed the eBay weekend but was up in Glasgow with family so I'll just start listing things to be put on at a later date.

Looking forward to checking in with you all soon

415 - sounds like you have loads of good stuff.

The golly stuff (and foxhunting) is probably very collectable - I sold a Robertsons golly cheese dish bougth for £2 for over £100 a few yrs ago - I love the gollies and only bought it because I like it.

With postcards - some can be very valuable - I got rid of quite a few of my old ones when collectors came to a local hotel - they usually advertise in the press.

If you list stuff on free weekends you can put a realistic starting price for the odd plates etc - think I sold an old nursery dish for £20 once - chap missed the end of action but offered me the amount straight off.

I also had a horrid brass crane bird which I listed - that went well and was bought by a chap with 'Crane' in his name.

Hele_an - think just as well you didn't bother listing on ebay as it is so slow and quiet- I'm not going to relist anything till kids back at school and people start thinking of Xmas.

7roland8 - yeah a few of my things sold really cheap which wasn't great, but I was happy to get rid of them.

I had a nightmare with one valuable piece which I put on as no return and to ask questions if they weren't sure. Chap who brought it suddenly came back as said it wasn't as described and that he was wanted a full refund. Did it just to be rid of the hassle as I was sure he was going to give bad feedback. Lost a tenner on that one for the postage:mad:

Anyway onwards and upwards - I'm slowing going through my flat and finding things which are not used or not needed anymore. Got a Vintage Picnic case i'm keeping them all in. The Picnic case has to be the last thing to go!
