o buy myself a little payday treat.
In this situation I usually buy myself a nice bar of chocolate just to trick my urges. And the good news is that I actually prefer Tescos value dark chocolate!! I think a little payday treat is a good thing as long as it is little and not a big treat.

Ok this may be totally bonkers but just worked out if we save/earn £1031 a month for 4 mOnths we've practically paid the car off... Them I could sell it any buy another... Baby is due in 4 months could be interesting

Hmmm put the cc and other debts on the back burner for 4/5 months and just pay minimum?? Wonder of it could be done, I'd never see the husband but wondering if it's possible?

I'd try it! Even if you are short of your goal you'll be a heck of a lot closer! It will need careful planning, decide what "treats" you're allowed first or else you may go crazy and splurge as 4 months is a long time (I go mad after one week or SELLING ALL THE THINGS!!!!!!!!!!! and SPENDING NO MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!) so you'll need a little treat :)

After my post yesterday and reading someone else's post (sorry can't remember whose), I have decided that the money I overpay on my biggest rate credit card, if it is around 1% of that card's total then I am happy with that rather than 1% of the whole debt. At the moment I am on maternity so the way we do things at the moment is pay off what extra we can out of salary and then anything we make from ebay sales/cashback/interest on bank account we use for treats/savings. I know this may seem alien to some people but for us it works.

So on that basis my 1% works out to be £48.00.
    Did owe £9,951.96

Now helping hubby pay off loan. Finally paid off :j

Husband just rang and told me he sold a golf club! £120! Thats 1% towards the car and 1% off CC! and a bit left over towards the next %. Slow and steady wins the race!

    Ello all!

Had a great birthday eve! A nice (free) meal with family and everyone kindly gave money as presents which was really appreciated.

Really looking forward to pay day this week and next week. Hoping to clear/close another small debt (Next card) then it's onwards to the big (and final) 3 cards!

In other news I'm building an iPhone app in my spare time (I'd like to do that full time one day) that may bring a little income in but that is something for the future. It all adds to the snowball effect!

Also looking forward to seeing what happens with my PPI reclaim. That's an extra 2%

Keep the ideas flowing folks! :)

  • hey bpsp10, that's cool! I don't know much about android apps. I should look into it

My app is a utility for people in the gym/weightlifters. If you know any weightlifters let me know, I could do with a few folks trying it out on their next workout.

Yeah me and husband are gonna have a chat and put a plan in motion I think. We needto work out what the minimum payments are likely to be on our cc, is there an easy way to work this out?

It should give you a minimum amount on each statement.

Annoyed with myself as looks like I have lost 'interest free' on one card up to next year as a cheque to them was a day late and they class it as a default and slam the interest back on - so payments have nearly doubled. I have written to query it but just looks like bite the bullet time.
