Does any one know what the rate of gold and silver is now? Been sorting things out in my bedroom today and found some broken necklaces and bracelets, old stuff I won't wear? I have no idea where to sell these? Do you use a site where you send your stuff and then they pay. You or do you go to the shops? What would others do? Hoping to make my next 1% on these :eek:0

Hey Helen,
I have seen signs saying 9ct Gold is £11 a gram at the moment. I've only ever used local shops to get cash for broken gold necklaces etc. They just offered me a price and didn't tell me how much it weighed (I guess this is how they make their commission) I got £75 for 2 9ct necklaces which were about 8 or 9 grams combined.
I'd definitely try to find out how much it all weighs before you go into anywhere. Just pop it all in an envelope and weigh it on the post office scales if you have to
Perhaps once you've got a couple of offers from a local shop or two you can have a look online and see if anyone is offering a better price via mail.0 -
Hi Helen - I sent to a site advertised on the QVC website thinking they must be reputable - no idea if I got a good deal thoguh - but I was happy.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0

Hi Helen, I just sold mine to Hatton Garden metals via post. I got ust over £11 a gram assuming they were honest about how much it weighed. I'm pretty sure it was this site that recommended them. For me it wasn't worth going around a dozen shops to get best price as I would have had to di on my hols as there are very few any where near me. I weighed mine the kitchen scales & got a rough idea of the weight, they reckoned it was a couple of grams less - I was happy enough with that.1% at a time no. 40. £8000 (For dream family holiday) 94/100

Happy Birthday Little Miss! Hope you've had a lovely day
I've been doing competitions in the hope of winning something to help with my percentages
No joy so far though
Still, lucks got to change sometime.
Which is better for listing books, btw? Mine are on the larger side so Amazon with the limited postage can be tricky.

Well toyotaarent interested in taking car back though i drove past a ford garage offering cash for cars so going to drive in tomorrow and get a quote, might be what I need to clear it. Other than that, me and dh are going to seriously have to look at our options...
Made £15 trading an xbox game today on webuy.com, that's another 1% towards the car when it comes through.

It's payday in a matter of hours, and all night at work a little devil was sitting on my shoulder telling me to buy myself a little payday treat. Im glad nodody could see me arguing with myself! So when I get up in the morning im gonna clean clean clean, and dig out ebay stuff. If I can do that for a week i might just crack the cold turkey feeling of being a 'spend junkie'.
On a plus side, just withdrew £73 from paypal for ebay sales! Happy days! :jWaste not, want not!
Slow and steady wins the race!0
