Glad you are having a MSE style birthday and enjoying it :beer:virtual beer all round!

Well im going to chance my luck with the finance company ive got my car with. I want to give it back so to speak and wipe off my finance/debt (£4500 worth). I think theyll say no as im not looking to get another car on finance for a fair while BUT they could easily sell it for £5500 and we had a 0% interest deal and they arent doing that anymore so anyone who buys it will be paying interest too so theyll get money that way. worth asking i think as its a popular eco car and its only 3 years old, under 40k on the clock and mot and tax until next march :p wish me luck. It would save us £93 a month AND then i wouldnt have to worry about a 2k balloon payment in 2 years on a car i wont use as its a 4 seater and we will be a 5 person family from November lol

    Hope that made sense?x

I think they can take it back after you have made over half the payments!

I can try. Need to cover the finance and early repayment charge. Really not too bothered if i dont get any extra out of it. I just want to get straight. I just think an advert with the words 'finance agreement' is going to put off ALOT of people :(

You don't need to mention the private finance; just work out how much the absolute minimum you can sell it for and add 10% (because people are going to haggle you down!).

Then once you've sold the car, you can pay off your car loan.

In 1% news... I've just paid 1% out of my wages (decided I didn't want to be on 0% another day!!) :rotfl:

  • @happytails - that would be a huge saving and would potentially make it easier if you need to get a bigger 5+ plus person car in the future.

  • @happytails - also people to a check now to see if there is any outstanding finance on the car before they buy it. It's best to go the direct route and avoid any comeback.

    Happy Birthday Little Miss!

I am going to set myself the goal of getting to 25% by the end of the month (including money from wages) as I really really really want to be debt free by the end of the year and it is so doable. I have restarted my £2 tin which I am hoping will provide a % or two in time, and have some small bits on ebay. Also I started Body shop at home a while ago and have a party this Sat, which should be another % at least, fingers crossed. We will get there!
