Crafting mad - I think it's a good idea, I have seen quite a few face painters offering these alongside face painting. You could still do it at things like school fairs, jsut donate a percentage to them or pay a set fee to be there.... Good luck!
I signed up to dooyoo this evening and did 2 reviews. Might join Ciao as well. Think my 210 points might only be worth 21p though....? Might not be worth it in the long run....?
The points from dooyoo will add up quite quickly, you need 20,000 to cash out for an Amazon voucher.. just make sure you rate and read others and they will return the favour.. and paste the same review onto ciao and earn from the same review0 -

Craftingmad, I think that is a brilliant idea!
I would put my prices up a little perhaps 1.50, but lower it a little if one person is paying for more than say two children, BTGOF kind of thing.
One large festival or car show, large boot, country fair, would pay for the insurance and your face paint.
Brilliant idea!Ebay 13........1583.46/2000.00 Amazon sales 54/50 Etsy sales 63/50

Well I was new to Dooyoo this year plus then later joined Ciao - got £40 of vouchers form Dooyoo plus £50 into bank - plus have another £33 odd stored there - so over £120. I also have £61 coming from Ciao - so definitely worth it if you put the effort in - I'm using it for Xmas, Birthdays and to pay a bit off my cards.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0

Evening all, fellow percentage peeps!
I actually look forward to payday since starting this. Before, I never felt like I could pay off enough and whatever I did pay just felt like a drop in the ocean.
Now I know how much all those drops are worth :j
It's been an amazing week, what with all the new folks joining, suggesting new ideas for this challenge AND being thread of the week & featured in the weekly e-mail! :T
I'm considering a few of the ideas suggested and will update my list shortly.
This week the total debt busted is..... 3.5%
Very pleased with that, I originally only thought the max I could get would be 3% at a push as I went to an event last weekend and the travel ate some spare cash up. However I've pushed a little harder and got more than I had hoped.
I guess it shows you can still make progress AND enjoy yourself too.
Just a little roundup of things that are on the horizon
1)3 expensive (1% each) items on ebay due to finish next week
2)PPI and bank charges letter sent - this could potentially be a BIG win for me
3)Car boot next sunday
4)Quidco used for things I had budgeted a higher price for - cashback should come back in a few months.
In the last few weeks I've come to realise that while cutting back is important and a good budget is a solid foundation to start tackling debt issues from - there is a limit to how much you can cut back, but there is no limit to how much you can earn!
In honour of this entrepreneurial spirit I'd like to extend an offer to all of you who have business ideas or a hobby that may bring you a little extra income.
I have built quite a few websites for small businesses and for my own projects. There is currently a great cashback deal on quidco which is £10 cashback for use on One.com (hosting and domain names)
One.com have a package that is £10 which is for small businesses to get a domain and some space for a website.
So the cashback covers the cost completely!
If anyone has been considering setting up a website, please drop me a PM. I'd be happy to help you to set one up and for anyone not too sure about how it would work, I can show you everything you need so you can keep it up to date yourself.
I just want to clarify this is a totally free offer, it would be done in my spare time - no strings attached. It's a pretty great offer through quidco, it's not often that setting up a little hobby business is totally free! :j I just think it would be pretty awesome to put all of your creativity to good use and get some runaway success stories in the next few months.
It's also my way of saying thank you for all of your support on my journey so far!

craftingmad wrote: »Hi all,
I've been busy with my kids school fair today and have not stopped all day.
I always donate my services doing glitter tattoos (it started a couple of years ago when I said my kids had a small kit).
I had to buy a new kit for this year and found a party pack for £25 plus VAT & delivery (so total cost about £36).
However I was flat out doing tattoos at the fair for £1 a time (which everyone said was cheap) and done over 40 tattoos in less than 2 hours. I still have loads of the kit left (enough to do at least another 80 tatoos minimum I would say)
So its now got me thinking that this could be another way of earning my 1%'s!!!! I think putting the price up (even if by a little amount) for private events such as parties, carnivals, etc I could make a few %'s from this. I've looked into liability insurance and it will cost about £70 a year.
What do you all think? Anyone have any experience of doing this?
Hey Craftingmad, this is an awesome idea. I have a friend that does glitter henna at summer fayres, kids parties, even things like country markets or wherever there will be kids the right kind of age - Your tattoo idea it really fits the 'pocket money' market well!
My friend has a little pop up waterproof gazebo (abt £70) like this one from Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/3x3mtr-Gazebo-WATERPROOF-INCLUDES-WindBar/dp/B002IS7J3S/ref=sr_1_4?s=outdoors&ie=UTF8&qid=1341615799&sr=1-4
She says if she's ever anywhere 'outdoorsy' and it starts to rain she gets a LOT of customers as families with kids come undercover. Also stops her stuff from getting wet in this wonderful British summer :rotfl:
Also, thinking about it - Proms, events, outdoor music events, school discos - even Uni events would work with this. Doesn't matter what age folks are - girls love glitter at any age.
UV ones would be quite cool for anything dance/party related.0 -
If anyone does, or wants to have a try at making little crossstich xmas labels/cards I have a couple of pamphlets with about 150 designs that have been sitting around the house for a few years.
Drop me a PM and I can have them in the post monday.Ebay 13........1583.46/2000.00 Amazon sales 54/50 Etsy sales 63/50

Not much going on today, heading to halifax to close our CC down. Its been sat with no action and fully paid off for months so think it may help our credit rating to have that "available credit" taken off.
Hoping to list atleast 10 items on Ebay today, mainly kids shoes. If i have time tonight ill do DVDs i think.
Got to get some food in today so lets see what bargains are to be had
