I've just signed up for the 'NOvember' plan as well, so hopefully I should have something positive to report by the end of the month.
I've logged onto a couple of competition websites - free ones - so I'll spend an hour or so every evening trying to win something instead of watching repeats.

    Hi everyone,

Just counted up my ebay totals for the last fortnight and have made just over £100 after postage and fees, plus £4 from quidco checkins, thats 5% for me!

This takes me to 31% overall!

I have a few more bits to put on ebay, but am running out of stuff to be honest. I know I won't reach my 100% with just these so need more ideas!

Just wondering how everyone gets mystery shops?? I'm signed up to most of them and I get emails infrequently, but everytime I login to reserve a job they are already taken!! Is it just a case of being a bit quicker???

Hi! Most definitely glad made the most of last week - it looks like a very different city to this week!

Bear with Schoolzone, I prob get 1/2 surveys a month at the minimum but sometimes you will be inundated - check out the current work for teachers section, think there are some focus groups/telephone interviews currently going??? I have put my name down - it's always worth an email to follow up as sometimes I haven't heard back, once I then followed up and as someone had dropped out, I then got in on focus group which paid £30 so would recommend chasing!!!!!!
I have had a couple of focus groups pay £50 - and it's quite fun too!XX

From how I've read it you can't buy things if you already have things in the house - no more food (except milk, bread etc) until you have used up the stuff in the freezer, pantry etc. Dropping to the basic supermarket brands, reduce the household shopping by at least £20 for the month, not buying coffees etc in town, walking rather than driving the short trips, no glam mags or 'treats' just because it catches your eye.
If you want to go out for the day make your own picnic with what is in the house, rather than buy in stuff.

As I don't get into town very often now it should be a bit easier for me than before. I have a bus pass so I could get into town on the days I feel up to it for free, and spend a couple of hours in the library reading the papers, or pick up some books to keep me entertained for a couple of weeks.
Also it's free heating for the time I am out, and I can pick up leaflets on what is on free locally.

I might fall by the wayside half way through, but I want to give it a go as anything saved will be good and go towards my debt reduction.
I will use my spare time to start making my Christmas Presents with my creative stash already crammed into every nook and crannny around the house.
Anyone know any good sites for free patterns for sewing toys and gift type things?

  • Hi, can I join in please? This is a fab idea Little Miss Uni-Debt. I've been lurking for some time, and felt it about time I stick my neck out, really want to get rid of my debt once and for all.

FallenArcher, Total debt £9000 (well just short of), so my 1% goal is £90.

As it's now the end of the month and I've been secretly participating in this challenge for the last two weeks I'll also declare for the first time at 2.5%. I used this method to pay off £225 of a credit card yesterday and it felt awesome!! This has been raised through ebaying, complaints and refunds, selling DVDs, underspending on entertainment budget, and underspending on other cash pots this month. Got a bit more to come from ebay yet, and have also completed my first FieldAgent assignment this week - won't count those until money is in account and all fees have been taken off.

I'm so excited to be sorting debt :D Thanks for the inspiration.
    Total money owed: [STRIKE]31/07/11- £17,877[/STRIKE], LBM - 14/10/12 :j, 01/06/13 - £0 DEBT FREE!!!!
New challenge- save an extra £5000 from non-salary -£1600 (32%)

  • Please can I join in?!

I've been lurking for a while and I'm ready to start earning my %s!!!

Total is £5000 so my 1% would be £50.

Working on those surveys and clearing out for eBay so hope to start stacking them up soon.

    :T:rotfl::T:rotfl::T

(I'm excited about using the smilies too!!!)
  • Just want to say what an inspiring thread this is! I'm going to start by selling my old books. I have literally 100s after doing my law degree and bar exams. Only problem is I did these a long time ago!
