trulymadlydeeply_indebt! wrote: »Hi happytails. I have done a few mystery shops in the past and unless you can guarantee absolute silence (or nap times if they are really little) from your little ones, I would advise against taking them with you. There is such a lot of information you have to absorb regarding each venue you visit, and then remember all that information to be able to input into the online questionnaire when you arrive home, it really needs you to be absolutely alert and on your toes. Some questions require more than yes or no answers and they will ask you to explain your reasons for most answers. If they feel you haven't completed the mystery shop properly, they have the right to refuse payment.
That said, I actually enjoy doing them and have never had a payment withheld, however, I do need a clear and quiet mind to do it and I know my 2 little darlings would not give me a moment's peace, so I fit mine in whilst they are at school.
Hope this helps

Thanks, probably not for me then as my 3 are under school age and with me pretty much 24/7. They will be home educated too once at school age so not even something i can look at doing in the future. Hmm are there online mystery shops or have i dreamt that :rotfl:DFW Total £21,800 to clear by Dec 2022

Wow - I have just caught up with all the thread and I'd like to join if you'll have me????
I have 3 little debts to clear and have drawn up 3 grids of 10 x 10 as I know I need to look at the smaller breakdowns to feel I'm getting somewhere. My first debt is going to be my next card at £549.64, so 1% is £5.50 and I know that OH and I enjoy sharing a bottle of vino collapso most evenings in front of our fire (it's like a ritual - fire on, wine open!) which is where my 1% payments are going to come from.
I've showed OH the 1% challenge and also turned our hair white at the snowball calculator. Apparently if we keep throwing our minimum payment at his £500 NW CC we will pay it off when we are 135 and will have paid DRUM ROLL PLEASE - WAIT FOR IT - £297,638,124 in interest by then:eek: At last something has made him see the light and he is onboard.:T
Therefore, we didn't have a bottle of wine last night or the night before, so that's 2 x £5.50 gone straight to my Next card so we already have a zip-a-dee-doo-dah 2% extra gone onto it via online banking. If I do this each evening, I will be mega happy.
THANKS FOR THIS CHALLENGE - loving it already. Number please when you get a mo.
Sorry for the waffle everyone, but I am just soooo excited by this one.

Hey everyone~
So good to see everyone so motivated! It's surprisingly easy once you get into it with the right mind set to not buy those extra things you want. The greatest things I did, I've found - is sending all my 'extra' money I make to a different account, and then paying it off onto my CC from there.
I'm checking in with another % paid off, so that's 5% in a month! (I'm dead impressed!) Today's 1% was actually courtesy of Dad. He won big (read 3K) on some instant win on a betting site, and sent me £50. =D
So, that means I've paid off £225 this month. Woo.0 -
I can't actually believe that paying £11 off my Next A/c has taken 3 months off the DFD - that's chuffin amazing!:DDecluttering junk and debt in 2016

How do you all do the listings on ebay please? By the time i've taken photos, edited them, loaded them up then got round to the actual listing I've almost lost the will to live! it's so time consuming. Help please?GE 36 *MFD may 2043

I'm with you tattycath. I have about a dozen or so items to add to this challenge but the thought of all the faffing about with ebay means I don't even get it started. I think there is a way around it by creating the listing days in advance, add photos another day and then posting it up another day (I'm thinking Turbolister?) but I honestly don't know and I'll sit tight with you until someone more experienced can show us the way!

Just paid another £27, which is an extra 1%. Not brilliant, but better than 0%!

No 45 on duty again - reporting in with another 1 1/2% (£45)
£45 made at the craft fair (after deducting table fees).
It was only a small village hall fair for 4 hours, and I made the second highest total (excuding the Tombola Table).
I was also invited to another 2 in the next few weeks, so I'm going to put some money aside to cover the Table fees.
I'm not going to spend to make anything else, but use up what I've got at home. It's a totally different group that will be at the next one, so hopefully it will be a novelty to them and encourage them to buy.
It's amazing how easy it is becoming to walk up to things, admire them, and walk away without buying them, and not feel hard done to because I can't have them.

Hi everyone, I smashed our £2 jar (we've had it since we moved here which was about six years ago, although we didn't often put money in it!) and I got a further £135 or 3% out of it! :j
There was a little left over so we've put that aside to go towards a meal out as a new pub has opened near us.
I don't think getting a per cent will ever be as easy as that again! Feels good to get to that 5% though. :T

Hello all!
Well done percenters lots of great updates going on! Even just laying the foundations takes time!
Welcome to the new folks, I'll update the list soon (I tend to do it on a Friday when I'm adding my percents up!)
Got 2 xmas presents sorted already - that's really early for me! Less £'s to find nearer Christmas!
Got my tax/mot/service and no doubt car repairs to pay for in Nov. Going to be an expensive month!0
