    Hi everyone,

I've been privately doing this challenge now for 6 weeks and have made £520 (26%!!!), but I've hit a bit of a wall now, so decided it was time to join the thread. I should say, the money i need to raise is £2000, so my 1% is £20. Here's a breakdown of what I've done so far:

    eBay £210 (10.5%)
    overtime £123 (6.15%)
    cash4clothes £6.50 (0.325%)
car boot £30 (1.5%) - doesn't seem much, but halved the profits with my boyfriend, and we still have twice as much stuff left for another one
    Topcashback £20 (1%)
    friend referall casback £30 (1.5%)
    NI refund £90 (4.5%)

Waiting for £4.70 (lol) from music magpie.

I know that ebay is my major earner but just can't face it, HELP!!!

I've made a few christmas hampers in the past, and quite enjoyed it, and wondered about advertising at work but don't really know how to price them or what profit to go for. does anyone have any ideas?

I have just transferred our gas and elec to Scottish Power as they are doing a fixed rate until 2014 with no cancellation fees and saved £30 a month on my direct debit (plus will be getting £55 cashback as I found it via Quidco). What an exciting way to spend a Saturday night!

That means I will be saving 1% each month without actually having to do anything!

Can I pick your brains please? If something doesn't sell on ebay, how many times do you re-list it before you give up? Until it sells?

i just keep relisting if its 99p as its free anyway and you've already got the details on Ebay. Unless its taking up alot of space and you'd rather just get rid then just keep relisting. Also it might be worth playing with listing length and also maybe listing at 98p so it comes up as cheapest if people search criteria through price low to high etc :o

Well we are paying our extra 1% to the CC this week, which i am excited about (How sad!) but didnt think we'd be putting much to this debt at all, but being able to put £65 towards it this month is really nice :T

2 things on Ebay sold last night. A pair of white pumps just 99p plus post and 2 pairs of boys jeans, £6.51 plus post! I listed them the week before last for £2.99 for both and got no interest! Started them at 99p this time and they went for £6.51 couldnt believe it! Unfortunately i have to pop this money aside for Ebay feess (£15.30 this month) but its better than it being taken from my bank account :)

Got a £3 off £25 shop at Morrisons voucher to use by 14th Oct (and 2 more for the weeks after). Im going to stock up on Washing powder, dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll etc and tinned foods with these. And also anything like Wine/Chocolates/Biscuits for Xmas. Hoping to get quite alot for £66 here as morrisons is only 1/2 mile down the road and will save me ordering Tesco online. (we get Veg locally and meat from a meat box).

Got more things to list online, maybe ill get those listed later :) Fingers crossed x

I have my first 0.5% sitting in my paypal account waiting for my other ebay listings to finish - going to get very close to 1% with my old clothes and nick kacks :j
Really excited, can't wait to pay off my 1st £60.

It's inspiring to read how everyone else is doing.

    Could the following count? -

I have got my £15 from British Gas and along with the two free months when no council tax is due that would be another £69?

    Have a good day :)

    Hi all.

Listed 2 things on Ebay today, had to refund one lady though but relisited said item.

Feeling a bit disheartened ATM but just need a plan. We have our own business so need to put a portion of our businesses income aside for the tax (20%) since June we have been either frivolous with it and didnt save it or lately robbing peter to pay paul to help pay off some debts. Now obviously i know we need to find that money and set it aside again before we need to pay it to HMRC so decided to get my head out of the sand and have a look...wish i hadnt now lol just shy of £3300 we need to have in the bank and we have £0 but it has stopped us missing CC payments and other important stuff so im still mostly sure we can pull through this. Next month onwards we will be putting our 20% away like we are supposed to and then a % of this money we've already spent. Probably 10% of that so an extra £330 per month will be going back into the business tax pot so to speak so that means we are going to be 'challenged' for want of a better word, having essentially another 'debt' to pay each month.

Part of me wants to cry and the other part of me wants to literally sell EVERYTHING we own lol Wondering if i should take on another debt for this challenge? I already have 2 going, might keep me on the straight and narrow or it might be too much... hmmm
