Chronic Anxiety & Depression - ESA?

Yes, I do not understand why some people feel everyone on sickness related benefits is a fraud. Majority of people are genuine claimants.
The few have made it very difficult for the majority.
100 percent agree. The most frustrating thing is that these few are so adept at claiming that they will be able to continue to do so while some genuine claimants will find it difficult to keep what they have. So again, they win.“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0 -
There was a heated discussion recently about one regular member who has both physical and mental health problems(claiming DLA HRM and HRC) and yet regularly goes to music festivals and had a month long holiday Interrailing around Europe totally alone.
I still can't get my head around that one.
It's called 'fraud'.0 -
It must be very difficult if you have children and a disability.
You know, there is a lady who manages to go swimming once a week. She has MH issues and I don't consider that she is a fraud or putting it on. I worry when she doesn't make it as I know that the exercise can only be of benefit to her.
Majority of people do not see everyone as swinging the lead but do see where things don't match up. Of course, like I say, one word against someone claiming benefits and the person speaking out is the devil hiself.
That was a lovely considerate post..
I have a disibility and children, life is very hard sometimes..
I have spinal problems, my arms & legs are also affected, I am also currently having problems with my feet due to spinal damage...
I also have severe depression which i've battled since I was 14, i'm now 33..
I take my kids to school, I got to bed for 3 hours in the morning, I feed the baby and we go back to bed due to medication..I get the kids from school, they help with jobs, eldest cooks dinner then we all go to bed..
People don't have much fun when genuinly disabled, the op has made me mad...
ESA for drug dealers...incredibleI always take the moral high ground, it's lovely up here...0 -

So true, what I really struggle to understand is why anyone would not want to work. I mean theres been talk of these claimants just doing "fun stuff" (going to gigs, cinema, etc) all the time, but surely that becomes tiresome after a while. I mean when you don't have a Job or college/uni to attend, in my experience life becomes a bit pointless. Days bleed into one another, time is sort of disjointed and meaningless. You run out of things to talk to people about, you feel a bit pointless. Or is that just me?.

No, it's not just you, ineed.
Life has beome so different since having to retire on ill health. I am a different person to what I once was.Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path. My mind is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the way to a just and right resolution. Amen.0 -

No it isn't just you. I call my bedroom my prison, because it is. It's a very small bedroom (about 7 x10ft ) so is claustrophobic. Each day is a fight to the next with nothing inbetween. It's the reason I want to try a little work from home to keep my already fragile sanity. If I didn't have the kids and hubby I wouldn't be here, and I mean that, there would be no point.

It's very difficult isnt it. If you guys don't already have one I highly recommend a handheld gaming console, DSi, 3DS, PSP etc. playing scrabble and brain training have kept my boredom at bay many times.

Out of interest, what have you learned?
How mental health affects different people. The experiences one person has differs from that of another, even though they would both fall under the MH umbrella. I know, of course, that there are different aspects of MH, but reading experiences has given me a greater insight.
I do stand by my original post. I don't understand how some people can do the fun stuff but not the formal, but I also see that some people force themselves to do the fun and it isn't really fun.
I am not a person who believes everyone is a fraud, I just see things and don't understand. Sometimes, when things don't add up, it is simply because they don't add up, but that is only a minority.Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help.
