donny-gal, by old age I mean about fifty and retiring to a villa in the sun :rotfl:

(Well a girl has to have some ambitions :D )

Well try just short of 56 and hoping to finish mid year and start to enjoy more time in it. Dreams can come true with good planning ;)

good day to all, congrats to the clever OS kiddies, and hugs to those in need.

had a bit of a yucky day at w*** but not back till saturday so planning to forget it all tonight with a glass of wine and tv viewing (bones and er). am supposed to have written a 500 word mini essay for college tomorrow so may have to work on that too otherwise it will be hastely written in the car park!!:rotfl:
am still addicted shamu cam and my 3 yo was asking about it on the way home from nursery-can't believe she remembered- must have made an impression!!
my most exciting news is that yesterday I ordered a slow cooker and breadmaker (via pigsback so waiting for the points!). :j Not very OS to spend so much money in one day but the excuse is
    1. I have saved loads on my food shopping bill in the last month (approx £200)
    2. It will be more OS/MSE in the long run
    and
    3. It is my birthday next month so can ask for money from family to pay for it
can't wait for them to arrive to play, will have to search the indexed collections for recipe ideas:D
any way thats all from me today bye for now

    Evening everyone :hello:

    Happy birthday to tru :D

Well, I feel as though I should lie down in a darkened room after the day that I've had. I'm exhausted! The interview took the form of: a tour of the school by two delightful and thorough children (if it moved, I got shown it!), an interview with the school council (what project could I help them with? Would I go out on the playground and teach them to play games?), teaching a lesson for 30 mins, planning and preparing a booklet for the Easter Service , writing a letter for a sporting tournament, designing a timetable to incorporate X, Y and Z and the interview with the head and two governors. The other two candidates and I were all but ready to walk out after the morning. Needless to say, I don't think that I've got it! I should hear later this evening though......

DH had his fourth Microsoft exam today - and passed! :j :j :j He's only got another 3 to go, but I said that he could have this weekend off before he starts revising again!

I have another day of supply tomorrow and DH is going to drive me there because it's 50 miles away, but VERY close to where he works!!! :j :j At least it will save a little bit of petrol on my car!

I'd better go for now.

You should be a Proud Mum tired mum, congrats to your dd. Surely it is 2 years early in Y9, its Y11 normally:confused:

Good Luck to those doing interviews today, especially anyone getting to second ones.

Spiddy a two and a half year old said, "Go in the kitchen now!" and you went!, even to sit and have a coffee and chocolate:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Pen-Pen you certainly have more energy than me with the "Run for Life".

    Congrat SSB

Popped into Lidl straight after work to get some sewing/knitting things, picked up a medium chicken for £1.49 and just cooked it on combination program on my microwave (as I'm cooking is it still OS if I use a microwave!) , together with small new potatoes, carrots, parsnips, and cabbage. Not bad for a previous 10 minute dinner speciality merchant, even tough this only took 30 mins. Still half the chicken left so we may be back to Chicken, Chips and Beans tomorrow. :T

NHSslave You brought back memories of when I was learning shorthand, doing my homework on the bus to the class. Don't tell my ds that Mum used to do such crazy things. Have you ever tried writing shorthand on a moving bus!
