Hello everybody. Hugs to all, good luck to interviewees and happy birthday to those of you lying under a table somewhere dribbling.....:D
Today I just cannot get motivated for anything - not even after being on here. Have taken this long to post for a start. Didn't sleep well last night and back on the Co-codamol so gardening is out too. Written to the Council AGAIN about the house shaking everytime something heavy goes past. Every room in my house now has floor to ceiling (and in some cases in the ceiling cracks) and everything shakes too. Main culprits are speeding buses and lorries as it is a main road but I thought the main point of having the by-pass over the meadows at the back was for lorries..Mind you, the road is in desperate need of resurfacing - perhaps if they stopped making a mess of people's poll tax then they'd have some money. Will have to ring the bank later as I still haven't got my copy statements from 3 years ago (council told me to pay full tax on empty house which was being knocked about so we could let it out, then when I queried it decided they were wrong, refunded it all to me and have now sent me a demand saying I haven't paid them any of it? eh?
) The Council also reckon I've underpaid them for last year by £100 - not according to my direct debit I haven't. Also had to e-mail a couple of avon customers at work who weren't in work the one day I was before my op and STILL haven't paid me!! 1 MONTH!! I did the "I think the cheque must have gone missing" line but I've not had any response. I would be mortified if I realised I owed somebody some money. Still, on a brighter note the contract has arrived for my digital transciption job. Right, I ate the last of last night's pasta bake for lunch and dinner will be - whatever.......
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
Hello,
Hope evryone is enjoying their thursday-it is beautiful here although I have one mega headache on its way. I've tried eating but hasn't helped, I wonder if its stress-there is a lot happening at the mo and although I am usually very good at taking it all on the chin there are a few occasions where it all really gets me down.
My friends all went out after our PSA meeting to the pub last night and although they are alovly bunch and we always have a laugh I just didn't fancy it-see there is def something wrong !!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway nearly the weekend so hopefully migraine will be gone by then, babies all asleep-the silence will be shattered shortly tho so will go do something productive,
Happy Birthday Tru-hope it is a good day for you where you are,
best wishes to everyone else, looby
ooh ooh I saw shamu last night-it was fab the kids were already in bed tho but I got v excited-DH thinks I;m barking mad already but I think that confirmed it 4 him !0 -
Hello Everyone,
Happy birthday to TRU
Not had time to read thread today. Baby girl is now waking up at 5.15 so it's got 15 minutes later. Hoorah:j
I left her with DS2 watching cbeebies while I had a shower at 7.15 only to find that she had crawled over to the fire and thrown the coal all over the cream carpet (not my choice previous sadistic owner of the house). Now I have to beg for a fireguard on freecycle and a rug to cover the black smudges on the carpet.
I've taken DS3 and baby girl to toddler group this morning then we posted mothers day cards in the post box. It's charming to see how excited DS3 gets about posting letters it's a real adventure for him.
I hope everyone's having a good day, if you're not having a good day I hope it gets better.0 -
There are two shamu's ????? !!!!!
I think they must be doing a show-lots of standing on end tails flapping stuff going on-that is excactly what my headache needs.
Have a good day, looby0 -
Afternoon all
Hope all those people with interviews have felt positive.
I've done so much this morning, not quite sure what's come over me -even made some chocolate cakes for DD's to take to school tomorrow - even did red icing.....it's gone a bit dribbly but then kids aren't fussy are they!
After having a huge row with the landlord on Saturday about the state of the garden (he had and extension knocked down and rebuilt as it was unsafe and the builders literally just took their tools and the bricks and left the rest) I got a phone call from him last night - I'll be down tomorrow to sort out the garden and sure enough he turned up at 10am and has been digging and flattening ever since.....it's almost like having one's own gardener! :rotfl:
DH is currently stuck somewhere north of the M25 and not happy as he wanted to be back in time to pick DD's up from school (actually I think he just wanted something else before his parents got here)
Does anyone know when the clocks change again - is it the end of March or April, I can never remember

It's always the last Sunday in March for forward and the last Sunday in October to go back. This year that means Sunday week, the 25th:DYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Afternoon :hello:

Pooky - the clocks change in the early hours of 25th March this year
Have been in a very long and frustrating meeting this morning at the other side of London, and only just got back to my office. At least my boss bought me lunch :T Quasar, hope you didn't get stuck on the Northern Line - it was right up the creek earlier on!
Got NOTHING done last night - just had a relaxing evening in front of the telly. I'm out tonight with free tickets to an opera I'm reviewing :T
Sorry for very quick post but am busy todayHugs to anybody in need of them

Tru. I hope you have a great day.
Busy day today. I am shattered, a quick tidy and hoover is about the best the house is going to see today.
I think a grilled full English for tea tonight as I have a black pudding and toms and mushrooms that need using up and I'll poach the eggs.
Got to sort out an online shop tonight, we don't need much as the freezers are full, tinned stuff and dried goods only. Also some arrowroot to thicken out some of the meals from the SC unless you good people have other suggestions.
Work owed me 8 days holiday and they couldn't let me have them before April and so they have carried them over until the middle of April and I am so looking forward to the break as I hate getting up at some obscene hour 5 days a week. Oh sees the surgeon on the 3rd of March in Manchester and then we will have some clearer idea of the way forward over the next few months.
Anyway, off to surf for half an hour and then get the hoover out. I hope you all had good interviews today.
