I transferred Zopa to Coventry a few months back and it only took about five or six daysflobbalobbalob said:
I am transfering out of Zopa. I would have left some money in if I could but their loss. Now I've seen how slow they are I feel no need to use them again. Disappointed that what looks like a digital platform should be so slow compared to VM.MisterMotivated said:VNX said:Zopa to chip transfer
after sone time money has gone from Zopa
but not appeared in chip, hopefully just slow due to the bank holiday weekend and not lost !This is the same as me. I requested a transfer on 6th April, and the money finally disappeared from Zopa on 19th but are yet to appear in Chip (presumably due to the bank holiday). Last October my transfer from Virgin to Zopa took all of 2 days to complete, but it seems Zopa are dragging their heels when it comes to sending money the other way. That and the fact they don't allow partial transfers out (meaning easy access pot funds are essentially held hostage if you also have a fixed rate pot) have really put me off Zopa; and to think I had high hopes for them in the beginning.Hopefully my (other) Virgin to Chip transfer goes as quickly as last year's.
but this transfer has been very slow
in the grand scheme of things I guess it doesn’t matter a huge amount if it takes five or fifteen days really interest wise, I guess because my chip is 5.9 for only three months I’d have ideally liked it to be faster but I worked out the difference in interest between it taking five or fifteen days is £8 a nice to have but for the ten weeks I’ll have my £21k in chip will earn me £60ish more than leaving it in Zopa so worth it. Then in ten weeks I’ll probably move it again
I don’t know if they are swamped with the new tax year to the providers offering bonuses or people who have seen their Zopa rate drop but as they say it is what it is1 -
I had a MoneyBox ISA with the bonus for the last year, then transferred my funds out when it was reduced to 4.2% at the end of March. I then deleted my account and tried to open a new one to see if I could get the new 5.71%/3 month rate. It allowed me to get to the end of the account creation via the app but then asked me to phone after providing my NI number. I didn't bother.mazdaq199 said:The Moneybox Open Access Cash ISA - higher rate only available if don't already have a cash ISA with them. Anyone know if a lifetime ISA is classed as a cash ISA with them?
But, the app started notifying me at the end of last week to complete by application, so I entered my NI number again, and I now have another ISA with the 5.71% rate for 3 months. I did the minimum initial £500 deposit (using this years allowance) to confirm and have just initiated a transfer for some other funds.
So, it is possible to a new account with a new rate even if you've had an account with MoneyBox before, so long as you close/delete your account.3 -
You were lucky there. It didn't work for me. Worth a try though.MeteredOut said:

How long since you deleted your old account (not just closed the ISA, deleted your account)?friolento said:

Yep, used a different email address, too.
I have now shuffed Moneybox into the same box I already have Plum in - i.e. not companies I want to have accounts with, if for different reasons.

Still no money appearing in Chip for me, and at around £7.50 per day in interest, it's more and more disappointing each day it doesn't show in the account (couldn't see on their site if the interest would be backdated).1 -
