  • I've got a T212 cash ISA at 5.0% (recently down from 5.20%). Do you know if i can open this account and transfer in my existing ISA? I can't find this info on either the T212 site nor the MSE comparison page. Neither can i see anything about a "free share"?
They have since increased the rate on the cash ISA back up - It is now 5.10%.  It applies to existing accounts too.

The big question that remains is from when this rate was effective.

    9th September 24:
    Reduction from 5.2% to 5%

    17th September 24:
Increase to 5.05% was showing in the morning in app and website, 5.1% was showing in the app in the evening and website stated that 5.1% is effective 16th September ("GBP rate changing to 5.10% from 16.09.2024")

18th September 24: The note about the 5.1% rate being effective from 16th Sep was removed and both, app and website now state 5.1%

I have requested clarification via chat but they are either incapable or so far unwilling to provide exact detail what rate was effective from when. Instead I was asked to provide a screenshot of the 5.1% rate being effective from 16th Sep.

So my Virgin isa matures on 24/9/24 can i set up trading 212 and set up an isa transfer? Or is it better to set up the trading 212 isa account and give Virgin the details for the transfer once it's matured please?

I'm not sure which way will be more efficient

You need to inform the provider who you want the ISA transferred too who then deal/coordinate with your existing provider.

As such, open the T212 account and provide them with the details of your Virgin account once it has matured.

With most providers you can submit the details early and select an option for them to request the ISA transfer is only completed once any fixed period has finished once but T212 don't currently offer that option.

May have been mentionedbefore if so apologies.

Have just seen Marsden online easy Access ISA at 4.85% .  Min to open £5,000 though.  Accepts transfers in of past and current years contributions.
Just to note, it's postal transfers only, not electronic
Where does it say postal transfers only?  Summary details say that Electronic Transfers are accepted.

Believe Gwapenut is talking about ISA transfers in following on from the previous quote. The  Marsden's summary comment is referring to bank transfers.

Thanks for clarification.  I'm looking for a new home for a 2 yr fix maturing in October so weighing up options.

Apologies if it's been mentioned already but Chip Cash ISA pays a boosted rate of 5.12% (0.28% boost on top of their usual cash ISA rate for 12 months) for those who enter the promotion code ISABOOST and deposit £1 in the account before 23:59 tonight (22/9/24).

This is only available to new customers, which if I'm reading the Ts&Cs correctly is anyone who has used Chip for less than 14 days at the time of entering the promotion code.
To stay with the theme I beat you to it here  B)
