Charter Savings Bank - Easy Access Cash ISA - Issue 43
    5.07%
    Allows transfers in
    Flexible rules
    Min opening £5000
One important correction to the above, this ISA is not flexible.
    From their Key Product details:
    • our Cash ISAs are not flexible ISAs - you cannot take money out of your Cash ISA and replace it in the same tax year, without it counting towards your annual ISA allowance

Thanks for pointing that out.   I've updated my original post.  I got it from moneyfacts and pretty sure it said flexible but doesn't now.  Maybe I misread or maybe they too have updated...

Opened zopa isa. Transferred in isa from previously year from barclays. Completed with 48 hours. Very happy. 4% 1 year fixed to 5.08% EA
That's very quick and impressive for Barclays. You don't often read the words Barclays and impressive in the same sentence. I still wouldnt touch them with your bargepole.

I open pricncikty isa at 5% as I already had RS with them. Thought i keep it together. And save me opening a new account with new company. Annoyingly they only accept paper copy of the transfer form. Which force me going with zopa. I was unsure how fast they will do the transfer as I heard they don't accept transfer in previously.

Why are ISAs going up? It feels like some sort of trick when the base rate is about to go down. Is it in preparation for the rule change when they will have to actually compete?

Maybe they get a more stable deposit base with ISA's.

  • Which ISAs are going up ?.......I only see interest rates falling.

Kent, Charter and Paragon all recently increased.

Well, just remembered Kent and Charter are actually the same bank so that part explains it.

I think you might be mistaken about Paragon. I've been checking their ISA rates fairly regularly recently, as I had their Double Access Cash ISA and was looking for a better rate as it's been at 4.95% since last October. Their Triple Access ISA has also been on it's current rate for a long time and their fixed rate ISAs have been decreasing steadily since they peaked around July-September last year.

It's encouraging to see the other providers increasing their easy access ISA rates though but I fear it's bound to be short-lived !

Is there a calculator where I can check correct interest given on matured Barclays ISA where initial balance increased 2 further times within first month as I am not sure it is correct? I only know calculators for the whole year and its giving much more interest so want to double check first.

My Metrobank ISA transfer finally hit my new fixed rate account. It took 30 working days instead of 15. The transaction date says 12th January. How can I ascertain that I have been earning interest on the money since 27th November when I applied for the transfer?
