Per website:To be eligible to open a Loyalty Six Access Saver e-ISA Issue 2 you must have had an open account (Savings or Mortgage) with Yorkshire Building Society as either a Main Holder, Other Holder or Trustee for at least the 12 consecutive months prior to applying and already be registered for online access.

(which I think is what you meant but perhaps the way you put it could be interpreted by some as meaning that if the balance exceeded £20,000 then you would only get 3.5% on the whole sum)5 -
Anyone planning to get the YBS ISA, don't leave it too long.
I've been a member of the Society for more than 15 years, but because I opened a new account and closed an old one on the same day less than a year ago, I can't apply on line and they are having to send me a form in the post.1 -

and it just turned 1 year that account 10 days ago, and my application for the loyalty ISA was ok4 -
Yes, continuous membership is not enough for ybs computers. You must have an account that is at least a year old. Even if you've been a member for 20 years and have allowed a 1 month overlap when changing accounts, all that matters is the age of your oldest currently open account.

Slight increases in fixed rates recently1

Principality have increased the rate of their Online ISA to 3.10%, which makes it the highest-paying easy access account (without restrictions) currently available.
It includes a 0.40% bonus for 12 months. Transfers in are accepted, it's flexible and interest is paid annually on 6th April.
