I'm glad to see this thread is still alive and well, and still being kept up to date. With all the rate changes going on, we'll need to keep on top of all the new developments. Thanks, Kazaa, for continuing to make that so easy. It's just a shame the mods don't see how valuable a complete and comprehensive list of the best ISAs available is to everyone, and also that it complements, not clashes with, Martin's article on the main site.

Somebody has started a poll asking whether people want this thread stickied.

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=503597

At the time of writing, 90% of people are saying "yes". If you want to vote then you have to do so by 23/07/07 4.12pm.

I agree with the poster above - this thread complements Martin's article. Also, thanks to this thread I have kept looking at this forum rather than other websites.

    Hi Kazza,

Just so you know - National Counties have upped their rates on the Guaranteed ISA (07/08) and on their Second Issue ISA to 6.26 and 6.01% respectively.

Not the best around...but still competitive!

National Counties have increased their ISA rates from 1st August as follows:

Guaranteed ISA (07/08) is up to 6.26%

Second Issue ISA (and previous years Guaranteed ISA's) up to 6.01%

Thanks Bhamstudent. I've updated the rates. I noticed that National Counties now allow their ISAs to be operated via the Internet, so I've added that info to the first post in this thread also. The first post is now more up-to-date than Moneyfacts!:T

    Hi Bhamstudent :hello:

I'm moving this post over to Kazza's Best ISA's thread :D

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

As a compromise with the whole sticky thing would it be worth writing in big letters on the first post This thread is designed to complement Martin's article here. And also writing a note saying - if you wish to apply for any of the ISA's mentioned on this thread please, please check Martin's article to see if there is a link that will help this site. Also might it be worth PM'ing Martin and finding out what the objections are and whether they can be resolved?

Hi dancingfairy - thanks for your suggestions. I did PM the ISAs, Toisas, Peps & Tessas board guide a few weeks ago with regards to adding a line about Martin's article at the top of the opening post with a link to the article etc. I haven't (so far) had a response to that.

What's odd was that this thread was stickied for nearly 3 months and then unstickied without my knowledge with no reason given. In any case I'm not too bothered about their decision - the thread is helping and has helped a lot of people on this website (which was the sole intention) and remains one of the most popular ISA threads (viewed some 34,500+ times as I write) stickied or not.

    Hi Kazza :)

At the moment this thread is at the top of the board and having kept an eye on things for the past couple of weeks, it's always been very high up, so for the moment it wouldn't make any difference whether it's a sticky or not. Having a link to Martin's article and the official discussion thread would be a good idea.

MSE Andrea has mentioned a possible conflict between this thread and Martin's. As you will probably be aware, the thread was unstuck before I was BG here so I'm not really in a position to reverse such a recent decision, especially so, seeing as an explanation has come from one of the official MSE Team.

Martin's article also mentions Moneysupermarket* as the comparison site to use which is updated daily with over 480 ISA products. The added benefit (but not a factor in the decision, see the ethical stance) is that this link helps support the site. :D
