Would I be better off using my "current" Santander Flexi-ISA (issue 3) which I opened early March 2011 (so it falls under 2010-2011 tax year) or should I wait and open another/separate ISA account?

    Sorry I am quite confused!

That depends if you are happy with the rate of interest. Your Santander ISA is instant access so you can deposit this tax years Cash ISA allowance into it if you wish. (up to £5340)

If you have the 3.3% Santander ISA then I would stick with it as it is a good rate (shame the same can't be said for their customer service!)

It is good for 3.3% for 12 months so in March 2012 get ready to transfer to another ISA even a Santander ISA if it is giving the best interest rate.

Those retro passbooks I seem to end up with every year around this time give me chills :rotfl:
LOL - I was wondering if I was the only one to find them a bit freaky! :p
I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.

Just a note to say there is 3.35% easy access available at the AA. No notice withdrawals but doesn't allow transfers in.
It's worth noting that the AA ISA isn't guaranteed to track base rate increases, while both Santander's 3.3% and Barclay's 3.25% ISAs are.

On that basis, it's a good choice if you expect rates not to rise this year or if you trust AA to voluntarily match the rises. Since even just a quarter-percent rise in, say, December would push Barclay's up to 3.5% (making it a better payer than AA for the whole year overall), I'd be wary about overlooking the base rate trackers. And of course, the more the base rate rises, the greater the wiggle room for AA to underperform increases.

Grrr. Is this one over or is the site bugging out on me? (Halifax)

'ISA Direct Reward is available for limited periods only and is not available to open at this current time. We have a range of other cash ISAs available, please click here to find out more.'

When I click 'here' it still shows the ISA Direct Reward...
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

I'd like a decent interest rate that will follow any changes in the BOE base rate, with instant access (or short notice period), and the ability to transfer old ISA money in. Any suggestions?
Free the dunston one next time too.

Halifax ISA Direct Reward? ... no explicit guarantee that it'll track the BOE rate, but I fully expect it to do this for the first 12 months.
