Cash ISAs: The Best Currently Available List

Santander are so crafty..last year I had two ISA with them one was an flexible ISA which paid the higher rate but did not allow transfers. The other was a direct ISA issue 6 which did allow transfers. They both matured on the 6th April and therefore went to their almost zero interest rate. They offered to allow me to continued with the flexible ISA even offering 2.5% if when my fund exceeded £8500 although below that I would get 0.5%. The correct method was to open a new flexible ISA which pays 3.3% for £1+ and transfer my old flexible ISA into a new direct ISA (issue7) along with the funds from my old direct ISA. Because this is an internal transfer it has to be carried out at the bank and not online as in past years. Yes !! I do realise better rates are available at Nationwide and Halifax so it wont be long before a new transfer will be carried out as there is no interest penalty from the direct ISA.:T0

Would I be better off using my "current" Santander Flexi-ISA (issue 3) which I opened early March 2011 (so it falls under 2010-2011 tax year) or should I wait and open another/separate ISA account?
Sorry I am quite confused!0 -

That depends if you are happy with the rate of interest. Your Santander ISA is instant access so you can deposit this tax years Cash ISA allowance into it if you wish. (up to £5340)
If you have the 3.3% Santander ISA then I would stick with it as it is a good rate (shame the same can't be said for their customer service!)0 -

It is good for 3.3% for 12 months so in March 2012 get ready to transfer to another ISA even a Santander ISA if it is giving the best interest rate.0 -

Just a note to say there is 3.35% easy access available at the AA. No notice withdrawals but doesn't allow transfers in.
On that basis, it's a good choice if you expect rates not to rise this year or if you trust AA to voluntarily match the rises. Since even just a quarter-percent rise in, say, December would push Barclay's up to 3.5% (making it a better payer than AA for the whole year overall), I'd be wary about overlooking the base rate trackers. And of course, the more the base rate rises, the greater the wiggle room for AA to underperform increases.0 -
BM 5year/5% ISA forms signed and returned yesterday with cheques, just got to wait return of account funded confirmation now and that's another years cash ISA allowance taken care of.:beer:0

Grrr. Is this one over or is the site bugging out on me? (Halifax)
'ISA Direct Reward is available for limited periods only and is not available to open at this current time. We have a range of other cash ISAs available, please click here to find out more.'
When I click 'here' it still shows the ISA Direct Reward...My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

I'd like a decent interest rate that will follow any changes in the BOE base rate, with instant access (or short notice period), and the ability to transfer old ISA money in. Any suggestions?Free the dunston one next time too.0
