Kazza - it appears the Halifax Direct Reward ISA has limited 'online' access. When you view your account it just says 'enquiry only service', I can't find anything in the literature about not been able to make withdrawals online :(. Might be worth mentioning.

No - this is just because either you have not yet provided ID, or have not returned the signed application form.

As soon as they have received both of these, the 'Enquiry Only Service' marker will disappear, and the account will be fully active.

Why do I need to provide ID, I already bank with Halifax? I didn't have an application form to sign either.

Mmm strange...you should have a "Make a transfer" button next to your ISA so that you can move money to your current account and then out from there to wherever you want.

Is this on the 'new' online banking website? I am still on the old website.

In that case, there's probably an application form in the post to you, and once they have that back with your signature on the account will be fully open.

Or it could just be that it takes a few days from when you open it.

The only way to find out is to visit a branch, phone up, or just wait and see.

    There's a new Nationwide e-ISA rate available this morning - 3.1% (includes 1.35% bonus fixed until 31st July 2012).

    New Skipton ISA pays 5%

    Excerpt from their site:

"The Skipton Building Society looks set to start a price war in the ISA market with the launch of a new fixed rate that pays 5%, taking it straight to the top of the best buy tables."

Oh yes, sorry I forgot to add the next lines of theirs, very important info:

"The 5% rate is fixed for five years and is available to savers with a minimum of £500."

You need to hold a card account with them though.
