I applied for the NatWest 4.72 account last night. I had to go through the ID check; photo of passport, photo of face. This was done on my phone and as far as I could tell I passed all the checks. This morning I had an email from them saying they couldn't verify my ID. I'm not all that bothered I'll go for the rbs one instead.

Unless you already have an account with RBS the application procedure is likely to be identical.

RBS and Natwest are the same company… would just try again, sometimes the AI can't pick up correctly or match details correctly. Had this many moons ago myself, quick phone call and all was sorted in minutes.

You don't have a Royal Bank of Scotland account via Lloyds, you might have a Bank of Scotland account?

Regarding the Nat West 1 year fixed rate ISA, very smooth process.

Did it in the insomnia filled early hours, the funding window is a bonus.

Edit - I assume my ISA will show up on my app when its all finalised? Only asking as some like Virgin are shown separately.

Yes will show on app. This is part of an email received from them after opening.
