I just phoned Tesco Banking and asking them to upgrade to the new rate of 4.2%. From what I understand, my interest gets paid annually and will be paid on anniversary of when I first opened the 3.97% ISA account but I will get the rate of 4.2% from one year starting now.

    Morning all

Question - I opened earlier this month a Fixed Rate (issue 333) with Coventry and transferred in a maturing 1 year fix from Shawbrook. Beginning of September I have a 1 year fix with Kent Reliance coming to the end of it's term. I have had the paperwork through from KR asking what I want to do. Looking at the options - I see Coventry Issue 333, is still up there on the charts. As the 4.6% is still payable until 30/09/2027 can I do another transfer into the existing Coventry 333 account or do I (or should I) open up a new Issue 333 account……

I am thinking the existing account should be OK and makes sense - but thought I would double check :-)

With Coventry you can initiate a transfer instruction to the existing account if it shows a transfer in button when you sigh in. Usually this is shown on the accounts summary page and when you select the account.

You can have more than one. However you can only have current year subscriptions in one account with them. So transfers of previous years money can go into a new account.

I called Tesco Banking yesterday as I was unable to open a new ISA online as I had already opened one with them this year funded with new money. I was told they can upgrade my existing account so would keep the same details. I too asked about the interest already earned on the 4.05% account to date and was told it would be paid later. However, when I logged in this morning the interest to date had been added and the account now says 4.20% interest. That makes much more sense to me.
