Cash ISAs: The Best Currently Available List

I've had quite a few fixed rate savings accounts with OakNorth in recent years, including a 2 year cash ISA which matured recently. I let it default to their easy access ISA and then transferred it electronically to another provider, which took 3 days. I've not had any issues with any of the accounts I've held.
You can bank online via web browser and they also have an app. When their fixed rate accounts mature, they sometimes (although not always) offer renewal rates which are higher then rates listed on their site. Deposits can take a few hours to be credited.

Thank you for that info. I am also considering OakNorth, but will probably wait for the next interest rate review before making any decisions.

I don't think there is much point in searching this thread if you are after the best ISA rates. The best ones will always be on the last 1-3 pages, which you can easily browse, or more helpfully, you can find them on

Saffron
Is Saffron a BS to avoid?
Been having only bad experiences with them so far and so does the OH. We both jumped on their easy access ISA offering of 4.5%, which was withdrawn within 48h.
I made 4 transfers to them from Virgin, Cynergy, Chip and Aldermore. Chip completed very fast (small amount), Virgin was not the fastest but acceptable. Cynergy was ok, they were not in a hurry and Aldermore was a nightmare.
OH had Aldermore and Cynergy only and both were taking ages, especially Aldermore.
In my case Aldermore claimed they never received a transfer, only admitting later through a complaint that the email went into their spam folder (same for OH). In my case they rejected the transfer as it apparently not came from a registered and recognised email from Saffron. All transfers eventually went through but it took a month for Aldermore. Aldermore compensated us both appropriately, Saffron is dragging their heels and offering only a small compensation to OH and I am still waiting for several weeks now to an outcome of my complaint.
Spent hours on the phone to both providers, many emails and secure messages to chase it further as otherwise I am not sure if all transfers wouldbe complete yet (all transfers submitted early April of new tax year)
In my case, I had until funds moved from my initial request 2 monthly interest payment cycles with Aldermore so attempting to move the rest over too. Sent form to Saffron on 1st June via email. On 8th June they responded that it is being dealt with and on 10th June I was informed the request was sent to Aldermore. It took them 10 days from transfer form submission to inform the other provider who has now 15 working days to complete.
OH made on Friday at 6:30pm a faster payment into the ISA (new contribution), website says cut off on a working day is 8pm. Funds only appeared and were credited the following Monday, Saffron is blaming Barclays as clearing bank so loss of 3 days interest.
Everything seems to be taking extremly long with them and while they are nice and friendly on the phone and keep telling you they do all they can to support their members, the practise looks different.
They also made updates to their system and the mobile app, that really isn't too great, app was not working for 2 weeks after but now fixed. (not supporting Android 13)
If it wouldn't be for the 4.5% they still offer, I would move away and never touch them again.
If I could make one change to the ISA system, I would mandate every provider offering cash ISA's to use and complete electonic transfers within 5 working days and would only keep the 15 days in place for paper forms.
In my top list of slow building societies Saffron claims the top spot now, ahead of Monmouthshire and Coop Bank.
Anyone else having similar experiences? Just not sure if we are just both unlucky or if they are genuinly not that great.

Similar experience? No.
My transfer from Tembo to the Saffron 4.5% ISA took three days.

Re: Saffron
Yes. They were terrible. Very slow and very unapologetic.
However, my last transfer, more recently, went a bit better. It still took them 5.5 working days to send the ISA transfer form off (ie in breach of ISA transfer guidelines which allow 1 week for the recipient bank to contact the donor bank) but at least they handled the incoming ISA efficiently this time taking a total of about 8 or 9 working days for Saffron to confirm receipt and credit to my account - despite their 5.5 day delay at the start of the process.

I too had problems with a Paragon to Saffron transfer. As you stated, the email supposedly ended up in spam. Saffron took 4 weeks to chase it up and the chase up email went to spam also. If I could mandate one thing on isa transfers it would be all emails should be acknowledged and if not acknowledged within 5 days, they should be chased up verbally, not by further email.

No problems either with my transfer from Principality.

I'd been with Saffron for over a decade before I closed down my account this year. CS was good (maybe I am biased being Essex born and bred) but the rates didn't remain competitive.
No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.2
