I did walk. Their rate was overtaken anyway. The delay, extra expense and overall hassle was too much. It was my OH's ISA I was helping to transfer - I already have one with them - opened ~ six months ago before they had problems with the Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation .

Have you thought about opening two ISAs?
One fixed, one variable, gives you more flexibility.
Higher rate on the money you won't need, and a lower rate for your emergency funds.

I found my notes concerning transfers out. They all are to different providers. It's a small sample and out of date, but thought I'll share it anyway.
transfer from Monument requested 18 May - failed. Restarted on 21 May - failed and another one failed.
transfer (paper) from Monument requested 30 may - left monument on 19 June - arrived on 27 June.
transfer from Monument requested 1 June- left monument on 6 June - arrived on 30 June.
transfer from monument requested 1 June, request made on 2nd June by Moneybox, money left Monument 4th June, arrived to MB 9 June.
transfer from monument requested 9 June - left Monument on 12 June - arrived 12 June.
transfer from monument requested 16 June - left monument on 21 June - arrived on 24th June.
transfer from Monument requested 16 June - left monument on 17 June - arrived 18 June

No, Moneybox like a few others gives you a bonus rate of 0.7% which goes away for me next month. So it will only be around 3.45%. I'm currently on 4.15% with them so Virgin will at least match this.

My transfer out from Monument to Vida only took 2 days earlier this year, so perhaps they've upped their game. Nevertheless, not using them, rate for existing customers is ridiculously low compared to others at the moment.
It really annoys me that there are very few banks/building societies who reward existing/loyal customers these days.3 -
Santander bonus
To get the bonus you have to switch into an existing Santander ISA but I do not have a Santander ISA. Can I set up a new fixed rate ISA and then also transfer into the same account from another provider that I have >10k with, or do I have to pay in within a short amount of time?

It'll get to the stage where people have swapped that many times that new/bonus rates won't apply anymore!

Bit confused, is this right?
You want to set up two new ISAs, one Santander , one other?
Then fund the non-San with £10k then immediately transfer this to the San ISA?
The transfer to San needs to be within 14 days of opening it.
Fair enough, as long as you actually want the Santander product.

Edited my message to make it clear that I already have another ISA to transfer from but not a Santander one. I can't get the bonus without already having a Santander ISA.
