Ford Money ISA Transfer to HSBC

Can I ask if anyone has experienced the following please?

My wife and I are both transferring some money from a Ford Money Cash Isa to a HSBC Cash ISA. We both applied on-line with HSBC and were given a sort code and an account number.

My wife is currently not at home and her cash ISA transfer has been completed by Ford Money this afternoon. However, when I check her Ford Money statement it shows the transfer has gone to a different sort code and different account number. I have checked the different sort code and it confirms that it is HSBC.

Of course I cannot check further until she get home as they are her accounts. I am concerned that we have a large sum of money not heading to the HSBC ISA account that she was originally provided.

Shame it was not my transfer as I could have checked this straight away!

I have found the answer - it seems that HSBC have a holding account where the funds are sent too. They then do an internal transfer moving the money to the original ISA account they supplied on the ISA application. 😎

Wow - there has been a fair bit of upward movement in fixed ISA rates since I checked last week and the top 1-5 year rates have all increased as a result.

There are too many individual rates to list here but, in addition to the few mentioned recently, providers that have increased some or all of their rates in the last week or so include Tandem, Close Brothers, Zopa, Tesco, Charter, Kent Reliance, Castle Trust, Hodge and Santander (who have also launched their latest eVoucher bonus promotion).

I guess this could be to do with the fact that it is the so-called 'ISA season' as we approach the end of the tax year, along with shorter-term interest rate drops looking a little less certain in light of ongoing world events.
