My scales are fab ..... they do stone & pounds, just pounds or just KG ;D

Thats why I get the 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 lbs etc

Also, I don't always wear the same thing when weighing myself, but I never wear my shoes, that always add 2lbs ::) Then, when on the odd occassion, I weigh myself in the nudy ... I get a nice surprise ;D

ps. I'm not a fan of biscuits :-/ so am relatively safe when tucked up in bed and ill ;)

pps. am going to research into the colour thing and may treat myself to something colourful on my birthday .... gonna be wild and maybe go for ummmmmm, blue! ;D

wardrobe is black, browns, creams, greys mostly ::)
I can say whatever I like here ... 'cos no one can see me .. ner ner ner ner ner !!!....

How do you know I ain't sitting here butt naked?!?!

I thunk I've made you think for a minute!

YIPPEE. I went to Slimming World today and lost a pound . Some of the swelling has gone down in my leg. Thanks Ally for the tip on Tigers balm. I know how you are feeling suffering from a bad back. I damaged my spine working in as nursing home about 12 years ago and I am in constant pain. My Doctor put me on Temgesic Pain Relief Patches and they are brilliant. Still you have to keep smiling. Hope everyone has a good week . Catch you soon

You talking about the bun shop has made me think about one of my downfalls - McDonalds. Now I know it is crap fast food but the taste of it (when I last ate it months ago before the diet started!) was really nice. I can just imagine the taste of the 1/4lb with cheese - mmmmm. I've driven past a few branches of McDonalds this week and I've been finding it really hard to just drive on past. Once I even stopped in the car park, sat there for 10 minutes fighting with myself and then managed to somehow drive off again without venturing inside!

The way I fought myself was to think of all the time I had spent already, trying to lose weight and worrying that if I ate 1 burger then I wouldn't be able to resist next time and would just undo all the work I've already put in.
I wonder, have you been to see 'SuperSize Me'? I'm still planning to go, I think, have heard fascinating interviews with the chap who undertook the 'experiment' of eating nothing but McDonalds for a month. I am SURE it would put us all off the place, if we needed anything more than the taste of their coffee to do this!!!

Can anyone recommend some reasonably priced scales that shows your weight in big figures or dial. As I grow older I find it much harder to see what the dial is pointing at and have to use kgs which doesnt show if you have lost half a pound.

Lolly, had a quick check for you at LXDirect. They have some dial scales product codes:
    NN222G £19.99
    NN070P £12.99

If you check the online dicounts voucher thread - there are money off codes there and free P&P codes too ;)

Hey all, good to see everyone back in fine form & some new faces - Hi Cee. (Cee & Sue, you both had me laughing as I could visualise the balancing on the desk and the gargyle like crouching under the desk! Fantastic description - have you written short stories we could read Sue??)

Bit of a setback this week :( Put on 2 lbs.... All week I've been really chuffed with myself as I was down in Brighton for a couple of days and walking to the branches from the hotel, I did 5,000 steps on Monday; 4500 on Tuesday and then 5,000 again on Wednesday (as I took the 'scenic' route to the branch by accident ;D ). Thursday was again a very decent 4500 and even 3.000 on Friday....

My normal steps is roughly 2500 - 3000 a day but does tend to vary either way quite a lot.

I thought all that exercise would really be like chopping an arm off and would show for a couple of pounds - but I didn't think they would be put on!! :-[

I am trying to console myself with the fact that it's a long road I'm on so occasionally, I will take a rest or backward step into a cul-de-sac on the way to my goal. Also I did hear ages ago that muscle weighs more than fat so am trying to persuade myself I built up a little muscle over this week.... Although if this is the case then I also heard that muscle burns more calories so the more muscle the more calories that are burned. Anyone any idea if these are true facts or if over the years these are wishful thinking thoughts which have spread amongst the weight-challenged?

I'm not in any danger of falling of my diet but still, it's a pain when I expected a couple of pounds off that my body throws me a curveball and it goes on instead! Means I need to lose 1 lb again to be back at 3st lost..

Good luck everyone for the coming week and I'll be trying really hard this week to eat more fruit and drink more water!
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out

No, but I'm thinking of starting a blog somewhere as I keep being told I should write down some of the tales I tell about my boys! Also to 'process' impending brain surgery, don't have a date yet but am starting to tell people that I have a small, benign brain tumour which I have CHOSEN to have removed. Beginning to feel in need of a 'Granny Weatherwax' type badge which says "I aten't dead - or even dying!"

I'm no more ill than I was last time anyone saw me, but everyone's being NICE to me and I don't need it!

Bought myself some shocking pink trousers today, hoping that would get the message across to folk, sadly they weren't big enough but I knew I was being optimistic as they were only M/L as opposed to L or XL. They looked big enough though and I couldn't face the changing rooms in TK Maxx. Hey ho, when I've lost that stone!

It is SO frustrating when that happens, isn't it? But don't despair - is it connected to what time of the month it is? That's my (occasional) excuse. But you're right, you will go up and down a bit: personally I think we should all have a weight range we aim for rather than a bullseye so we don't worry over the odd 1 lb - as long as we're not putting on the odd 1 lb every single week!

The first is certainly true, it says so on the BBC website, and I believe the second is also true but not sure.

Forgot to ask, Velvet Glove, where did you get your step counter and is it any good?

I had one of the Kellogs Special K ones, which had good days and bad days, but I lost it. Today my new one arrived from CPC, I just had to pay P&P, the details are somewhere in an earlier LW thread.

It seems FAR too generous when I'm walking around the house, and gives me 4 or 5 steps every time I pull my trousers up after I've been to the loo!!! :-[ ??? I did test it over 100 steps and it was OK, but I don't really trust it.

I'm waiting for my freebie from the BBC2 Fat Nation series, but thinking I may need to put one on my Christmas present list. But reluctant to have someone spend money on one which works no better than these freebies!
