Welcome Cas and all new people who have joined the happy band. Dont be afraid to post any diificulties. There are enough of us for someone to help out one way or another.
I have got three weeks to my sons wedding so I thought I had better make an extra effort to maybe shift a couple of pounds in desperation. We will have a great time whether I am thinner or not.
Have a great week See you soon.0 -
Hi all
just to let you know that tonight I scuppered all my previous efforts as I was to knackered to cook so went with my husband to an indian restaurant and just PIGGED OUT - I am going to be on water and celery for the rest of the month I suppose, to make up for it
NOT
as on Saturday I am booked for a pizza with friends before going to a show,
HELPPPPPPP!!!
CaterinaFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

I came across a good tip to relax that only takes a few minutes.
Sit quietly and close your eyes then imagine a bright blue sky - then slowly introduce white fluffy clouds and see them drift across sky. This tip came with a "stress card" that was supposed to measure your stress levels and the tip did seem to reduce it.
But thank you for the tip, I am using it a lot and will do so even more now I remember the colour I'm after!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Savvy_Sue wrote:No fun, but places where they do pizza often do good salad as well, so can you pig out on that and share a pizza with someone in a similar situation as you?Savvy_Sue wrote:I think the weight's still coming off for me, but the old BP remains as high as ever!

Caterina wrote:Well done on more weight loss, sorry to hear about BP still high, I suppose you have already done all the thing needed e.g. cut salt, walk everywhere etc...?
I've got a question on the health board about BP where I've had some useful tips, so probably better if I leave the main BP discussion over there, but I'm now on beta-blockers.
However, MORE good news! :j A beautiful pink fluffy dressing gown, size 10-12, now adorns my wardrobe, and I am definitely not anywhere near a 10-12 but it is generally agreed that this fits me well. And today I could not leave Primark without a pair of pink linen trousers, which are in a smaller size than I usually take. Although TBH and I'm not doing myself down here, I think their sizing must be pretty generous at least on this style, because it's not long since I tried the trousers in my wardrobe which don't quite fit and they still didn't.
I have to say that the men of the house are not sure if my new acquisitions can really be called 'good' news. The dressing gown in particular is almost bright enough to read by.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
sleepy wrote:I really want to shift the weight and am trying again. Only this time I have an added incentive - I'm engaged, and my nan has told me that if I loose 2 stone she will give me £1000 for my wedding dress. :j
Larger size wedding dresses, ie from size 22 upwards, are available from 3Bs, who are based in Weston super Mare. I don't know a lot about them, I'm not about to use them being as how I did all this a long time ago, but they featured in our local paper the other day and it said dresses started at £300 which can't be bad! Nothing in the website gallery looks like a meringue, either! Also said there was a special offer with a local hotel for an overnight stay if you didn't live locally to W-s-M. Hope this helps and sorry if they've featured here already.
Please don't take offence if once the two stone is off you'll be a svelte size 12 or less, and even if you're not as big as their main target size they may be worth contacting if you're having problems in 'normal' bridal stores.
All the best!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Thanks, don't worry I'm not offended - it made me smile.
I'll definately not be a size 12 when I've lost 2 stone (although, I wish I would be).
A couple of weeks ago that company would have seemed like a godsend. But now I'm sure I won't need them.
Rather bizarely I've really enjoyed this last week. I've realised how much I loved apples, before they didn't get a look in as chocolate was the snack of choice, now I'm having an apple a day. I think I've eaten more fruit + veg in the last week than I had so far this year, and it's all lovely.
Somehow it just seems right this time, I've barely even thought about chocolate or ice cream (Haagen Daas and Ben and Jerrys - my other vice) all week. I've not even been hungry as I've been filling up on salad and fruit.
I have to say, this really isn't like the old me, I used to think people who counted calories and ate greens were nutcases, but hey thats how I got so fat.
Now all I have to do is actually get round to some exercise instead of just thinking about it (everyday I've promised my fiance that I'm going to use the stepper and weights that are cluttering up the bedroom!).
The best thing of all (other than my new found love of apples) has to be that I have lost 3 pounds this week!!!!!!!!0 -
Well done on your shopping Savvy-Sue, we all need rewards, and I hope that your health improves, too!
My last few days have been bad bad bad but not on the overeating front, instead I have had a few cigarettes and am really sad about it and scared that I am a smoker again (will I ever stop getting tempted?). In a way smoking has helped me not to eat very much but it is not the way I want to do it, no way!
On a positive note, my husband has started noticing that I look slimmer, he commented about it today - if you knew my husband you'd understand how unusual this is - he is the sort of guy that would not notice if I tinted my hair pink and blue!
Love and best wishes to all of you

Just a quickie post from me tonight as it's late, I still have to shower and I'm in heavy revision mode for another mandatory exam on Friday that they just sprung on us all!
Got weighed yesterday and another 2lbs has vanishedSo pleased with how it is going. The lighter days really are helping me to get off my backside in the evenings and do stuff!
Linda - Your outfit for your sons wedding sounds really lovely. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for gorgeous weather on the day. Thanks for this weeks password, I think it will get a lot of use again this week as I've managed to talk my mum into following this diet again too!
