You are more than welcome to join our little group on here. It won't cost you a penny to talk to us and you won't have to wait a week until the next class to chat about any burning issues you may have! In two and a half weeks you have lost just over half a stone - way to go!! Sounds like you have the right idea with the exercising and cutting the (gorgeous) stodgy things out. Increasing the amount of fruit and veg that you eat will make you feel a lot more healthy and I found that I was getting less of the coughs and colds that were going around the office, so health benefits there too! It's good to know that when we are chatting about stuff on here that is is having a positive effect on people who may be reading it as well, you have stepped into the 'active players' now so others can watch and learn from you too! Perhaps some others will de-lurk and join in when they feel they want to. Good luck for this week and we are only a few button clicks away.
Hiya
Yes of course ~ please feel free to call me Scarlett
Thanks very much for your message, oh and can I say ~ I also LOVE the skin from custard hehehe ~ my mum used to make the most gorgeous custard, completely from scratch :A Not had any in a long time though!
I totally agree with what you say about improved heath just by eating more fruit & veggies! My daughter and my fiance are both sneezing like mad and both have sore throats ~ where as I feel fab! :j I've most definately noticed an improvment in my skin tone, much cleaner and my hair feels better too, for some reason
Well I'm weighing myself Tuesday ~ seeing thats the day I began I'm trying to stay consistant, so hope I can keep up the good workSo far I can't really see any difference, my clothes feel the same also, but I'm sure its all going in the right direction :j
Good luck to everyone else :T
Kindest Regards,

SnowyOwl, you're welcome. Don't apologise though, I post up what I hope are helpful words of encouragement and information and don't ever expect someone to post just to say thanks
Gosh, got me blushing now! If what I said helped you then great, it did what I set out for
Congratulations on getting the job though, that is one heck of a hurdle to get off the unemployment grind. If you need any help or have any questions about the Slimming World then there are a few of us doing that diet and I know that if you ask I'll do my best to answer, as will the others I'm sure. You can always pm me too if you feel the need, I get an email heads up about any pm's so I should respond that evening after I get back in from work. I hear what you are saying about gorging on bread/cake, Sarah Lee double chocolate gateux were my downfall. I daren't go anywhere near them in a shop as I know if I buy one I'll defrost it and then sit there with a spoon and just eat the whole thingThey are just too tasty to have a small piece and leave it at that, so I have to not have it at all.
littleangel a half pound off is still a good thing, I know it doesn't sound like an awful lot but really you have to get a feel for how much it actually weighs in your hand and then realise that it is no longer hanging around somewhere on your bodyTotally agree with the fruit bowl approach! A few months ago when I saw everyone tucking into the numerous cakes and chocolates that the staff buy and put on the side for people to snack on, I took a wicker fruit bowl into work and keep that stocked. So now I can have a banana, a tangerine or apple if I'm feeling in need of filling my mouth with something! Occasionally I also have some seedless grapes in there too and they are just scrummy! It has helped me avoid snacking on the chocs although I couldn't resist trying a bit of a pretzel when someone bought some freshly cooked ones in after lunch one day!
*Dashes over to give Savvy_Sue a huge hug* You need to grab your tape measure Sue as it could be that you reduced in size while you weren't looking. Then you could take some comfort from the fight your body seems to be putting up to stop you moving into the next weight range down. Don't let it win! I'm not sure whether figs are good or bad dietwise, haven't eaten them for ages, must be a Christmas perhaps 6 or so years ago, I always find that a salad or a plate of veggies does the trick for me
This week when I got on the scales I lost a pound which was quite good going considering the tea I had on Thursday night (see previous post above) Let's hope for a better week all round this week! Good luck folks, and let us know how you get on on Tuesday Scarlett
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out0 -
Thanks Velevet Glove ~ will do
Does anyone know if cream crackers are a good snack? Sometimes I miss having something savoury, so I bought a packet. I only have 2 or 3 with some light spread on them, but I was just wondering....
Also wondering ~ Is it really worth cutting out all bread? I don't eat a lot of it I must admit, but I do have sandwhiches at lunchtime through the week, and its gotten me thinking, as I though bread was good for you....

Cream crackers are high in fat and ryvita might be a better choice.
Try making sure that you have wholemeal bread as it fills you up and is better for you.
I try to limit bread to two slices a day as otherwise I can't stop picking."This site is addictive!"

But Ryvita does several scrummy flavours now: the fruity one (called Ryvita Breaks) is tasty for those with a sweet tooth. I think it's just fruit added, there may be some extra sugar, but I haven't squinted at the packaging.
Thanks Velvet Glove for the hug, I think I am going down with a bug which is why I feel mis. Tape measure not a huge encouragement I'm afraid, and my trousers are only falling down as much as they have been for ages. But I will try not to let it all get me down. Haven't weighted myself since then and will consider waiting a few days more, maybe I'll get a nice surprise but at least I won't get any more fed up about it for a while ...

Oh noooo  I've read that after eating 4 cream crackers *doh* lol I hate ryvitas too.... Oh well, I'm sure there will be something I can try! Thanks for your reply0 -
You will have to do a squint at the packaging to compare nutritional values but oat cakes are also really tasty and better at filling you up than cream crackers would be. They may well have more fat than Ryvita though: I like them because they come in little packets within the box so easier to keep fresh.

I'm sort of used to looking at the packaging, as my daughter has type 1 diabetes, but I'm not used to looking at the calories, and fat contenthmm.. now I'm not sure what oatcakes are.... are they like Snackajacks??
I've been looking for those new Ryvita mini's but not been able to find any to try them ~ my local Tesco's doesn't have them, and I've not seen them anywhere else.
So, with regards to fat content; as I said, I'm not too familiar with this, I've been going by the rule of, if it is 5% per 100% or less, this is ok, is this right??

Sorry Scarlett, not ignoring you...I've got a query which I wanted to post but hope this doesn't mean your post gets overlooked....
Can anyone tell me how many of the Healthy Extras on the Slimming World plan you are supposed to have? Is it just one, or one from the A list and one from the B list...or can you have more than one choice from either the A list or the B list? Confused..sorry...
Also, are you allowed to consume extra syns if you do a bit of exercise? I seem to remember that was the system yonks ago on Slimming World, but maybe this has changed.

Look around near the cream crackers. I usually find them in that general area, on the top shelf. Nairns is one brand but there are others. They come in a square box-tube but they are round inside. There is often tartan on the box. I adore the cheesy ones, can eat them with no marge so even though they will almost certainly be higher fat than the 'normal' ones I don't slap butter all over them so hope it works out about the same. But they're dearer and not always in stock.Signature removed for peace of mind0
