Well i am a single Mom and since having my baby 6 months ago, i have put on loads of weight. Also i quit smoking 7 weeks ago and put a stone on through that.

I now weigh 15 stone 8lbs as off saturday 26/2/05

I started my diet on sunday morning, Sticking to the weight watchers plan, i cant afford to go to a class so im trying to do it on my own.

Im going on holiday in 4 weeks so my plan is to lose 14lb in 4 weeks.

I have found this week really hard but its gradually getting better.

I stayed the same this week but am pleased I didn't put on (had some of mums steak and kidney pudding done in a cloth and oh boy was it delicious!). Going to step it up at the gym and do some swimming there next week too as that will give some different muscles a work out.

Way to go elona! Losing 3 lbs AND being Slimmer of the Week is bound to give your confidence a boost as you now know you can do it! That's interesting to know about the '1lb a week by Christmas would be 3 stone' as that isn't an unachievable weekly target but adds up to so much. I'm going to do myself a little poster to put on my food cupboard to remind me about that! Thanks :)

lazylins, that is so sad :( I hope your rabbit is ok now and it was just a temporary thing. We love our animals so much that it's so hard to think of losing them. Somehow the thought of a bowl of fruit isn't as comforting as crisps and chocolate... Hang in there and we'll all be here for you with a hug and a shoulder.

sexy_fufu - welcome to the thread :) Congrats on giving up smoking and finding your way here to this thread! There are quite a few of us that are doing various diets but not going to the weekly clubs and we use this thread as our support system. I'm certain there are a few other Weight Watchers on here that will perk up with hints and tips on WW and the rest of us can chat over the other diety stuff when you need it! Your target for 4 weeks sounds very challenging and you must be run ragged with your little one! Good luck with your target and don't feel that you have failed if you don't make that 1 stone mark by your holiday as anything off is better than it was! They say the first week is always the hardest on any diet and having had numerous 'first weeks' I can say yeps they are right! :D Hang on in there and let us know how you get on.
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out

How is everyone doing? Hope you are all well and still losers:D of weight that is!! Welcome to all our new members too. And big love and hugs to ickle wabbit! *Kiss*

I am starting again ... from scratch! Will do a proper weigh-in today and measure up!! Take notes too!! Will be a source of motivation when needed. Ahh, the joys of looking back at how many lbs you have lost and how many inches you have shed :D Last year I lost well over 4 st but then came along my birthday in October and it was never quite the same again:rolleyes: . This year (funnily enough, I started around the same time last year too!) I am aiming to lose 2st and hope I can do it! But I know all you lovely people are more than willing to get ya boots ready and gimme a firm kick up the rear to get me going and keeping me going when I slip up!! I thank you all in advance too!!

Keep losing all and I will post again on sunday weigh-in!! Next sunday that is .... mothers day this sunday, so you know the kids will be getting me some bad bad foods!! Just gonna nibble on them a little to keep the girls happy, then of course, I will let them devour it .... seeing as I am soooooo generous!!

    Love 2 U all!
    Ally xxxx

    ps. Thanks again Savvy *Kiss*

:o from Ally's comments! Gee thanks, all I did was say I'd missed you around here ... and tell you I'd seen cocoa butter cheap in Superdrug! (Ally swears using cocoa butter helps her chocolate cravings ...)

Anyway, welcome to sexy fufu (!) and I back up what Velvet Glove said: that's a challenging target for four weeks and while it's not unachievable because the first few pounds are always the worst, you could do worse than set two targets, a 'minimum but easily sustainable' and an 'ideal'. So if you say to yourself "It would be lovely to lose 14lb before I go on holiday, but if I don't, I'm not going to beat myself up about it. And let's say I lose 7lb or more, I determine not to put any of that back on again while I'm away. Then, although I didn't hit my original target of 14lb, I'm still halfway towards it when I get back and I can then give myself a new, less pressured timescale."

Personally I'm still stuck at the 10lb mark, JUST where I was after Christmas, but the important thing is that I haven't put back on the half stone plus which I lost last year. So WHEN I lose the last 3 lb which will get me down to Overweight rather than Obese, I am sure it will stay off. Maybe now the weather is improving I will get out in the sunshine a bit more. Heck, it's only 3 lb, surely I can lose it before I go into hospital (especially as I don't know when that it but it's got to be more than 2 weeks away!)

Also to all the new bodies who've so recently joined us: there are TWO THINGS you need to do in order to lose weight.

    Move More

Eat Less (in terms of calories, not necessarily quantities)

I'm still eating less, it's the movement that's held me back. OK: Off the PC, Out for a walk!

PS: I DID IT! An hour's walk with my DH in the sunshine! Hope that will help offset the choccies!

Thanks for your words of wisdom Velvet Glove (28th Feb) which I've only just read - sorry!

I have decided to give the GI diet a try, as its more of an eating plan than a "diet".

Just waiting for my books to arrive! :)

I just pop in now and then.... :)

    Hi Friends
Got weighed today not feeling very enthusiastic but yippee another half a pound off. I am trying to convince myself that even a half pound is better than nothing.

Many thanks to velvetglove for her continual support and staying the same is better than putting on.

Welcome back Ally and good luck getting back on track
The password for SW this week is Custard

    Have a great week

I joined Sureslim last September and ive lost about a stone and a half since then. I seem to be stuck at my weight now and im off to Greece with my college class next week so bang goes that sexy beach wear (Never mind).
What I will say is just keep at it because even if you dont lose weight for 3 weeks you could in the fourth. I hate the way the media tells us that we all have to have size 8 bodies to be 'Normal', or men have to have body builder bodys. Somebody loves you for who you are, not what you could be so just be yourself.
I remember when this was just a little website! :money:
