Hey jaffa, that's quite some achievement! Nice one :) What sort of thing are you after when you say menus? Just individual meal ideas or a whole day of meal suggestions? I have a few favourite meals which I tend to swap between then throw them together with different things from the magazine or the free food listed in the directory. If you let me know what you like/dislike I can try to suggest some of the things I enjoy eating to give you a change :)

Linda - you are more than welcome!

bridiej - You are toning up and adding muscle, replacing the fat. Probably why you aren't reducing on the scales... as you are obviously reducing in inches! I bet that feels sooo good to slip that skirt on and see your achievement in the mirror! Can't wait until I can do that, but will be quite a while yet I think.
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out

Hi VelvetGlove - I have no real dislikes. I was really after a few examples of full days for both red and green - or if it's easier just a few of people's fav SW recipies that I can try in addition to the ones from the magazines I've got.

I'm doing good with more excercise and less food - just need a final push for the last half stone.

Mimi - I have tried quorn in the past, but perhaps should try and use it more in my cooking.

Birdiej - well done! You are obviously losing inches if not pounds, stick with it and the scales will soon show a difference as well.

Grrrr, stayed the same this week
It's my fault, I got complacent after last weeks modest success.
I will just have to try harder next week (sounds like a school report).

I've also stayed the same for the last couple of weeks sleepy. Seem to find it harder now the Christmas excess has gone.

Still, back on the treadmill tomorrow ... don't care how cold it is in our garage, it has to be done.:)

I haven't read through every single page of this thread but I am getting there!!

Bit about me : I have slowly (sometimes very quickly!) put weight on for the last 7 years. I am 24yrs old and have a 4 month old boy and a nearly 3 year old boy. I currently weigh in at 12st 10lb, which is what I was at my heavies whilst pg with the 4 month old, so my weight is still going up. Part of my weight problem is due to using pregnancy as an excuse to gorge! The other part started when I met DP, we used to go out evert evening for a meal followed by beer, followed by crisps, nuts etc ( all the little nibbles I love). I find temptation hard to resist.

Am trying to make a start on all problems at once, weight, health, money etc.

Have been to SW 3 times in the last 4 yrs, and whilst yes it works, IU find it hard to make every class then fall back into old habits. So I want to do this at home, my sil comes every Sunday afternoon and we both weighed ourselves last Sun.

Will post again once I have finished reading thread, really want to do this, this time, DP is the same (we used to go to SW together!).

edit - lbs or kgs, which do ppl use? I have always wondered if I would be better using Kgs because I don't know what that equates to in lbs and stones and might have a nice suprise (or bad Shock). Any ideas?

Use pounds rather than kilos as kilos will come off twice as slowly as 1 kilo is 2.2 lbs and will discourage you. Good luck :):):)

    Elona - thanks for that!

I find one of my problems is setting a target of what I want to get down to with no mini targets, it can get depressing when you are so far away from your final goal weight, therefore

My 1st "mini" target is 7lbs

Small targets are exactly what a reputable slimmimg club would suggest.

If you get really discouraged call it a target of 4lbs - then 3lbs and bingo half a stone is gone!

  • Morning everyone.
Many thanks to velvetglove for giving me such inspiration. I went to the SW meeting yesterday feeling downhearted but when I got on the scales she said I had lost one and a half pounds. YIPPEE. So I am now filled with enthusiasm to get thru another week. Has anyone tried the spicy parsnip soup recipe in the SW magazine. I will put it on this website if anyone is interested. It is lovely and filling.
Good luck to everyone . Speak to you all soon
