i agree they are very good for weight loss but also cause iam vegetarian i didnt like the fact the capsules have beef gelatine in them so was a bit funny about it, i even phoned the company to see if they had any vegetarian alternative, but the answer was no :-/
lazylins,
I know you were talking about the Xenecal tabs there (I tried those too by the way but didn't really like the idea of the side effects so stopped taking them!) but a few threads back cathy and I were talking about appetite suppression and she did a load of research on something called glucomannan. We then both tried some Konjac Fibre tablets and for both of us we noticed that we sometimes forgot to eat as we just weren't hungry - now I usually have a 'large' appetite so this was quite a miracle breakthrough for meMeans I can eat less and still feel full.
OK, you are probably thinking 'where is the link to me?' I was just glancing at my tub getting tomorrows pills out ready and I noticed that they are 'suitable for everyone, vegan capsules' - so if you were interested in trying this avenue to aid your weight loss attempt then you wouldn't have to worry about conflict with your eating preferences. I bought them in a tub of 210 capsules (21 days supply) and the last place I bought them was this one but I'm not sure if that would still be the cheapest place. Not sure if you would be interested but I know that they certainly make me feel fuller with less food intake. (For anyone who is wondering, no I don't work for the company that sells them or makes them, just a satisfied word spreader).
[Edit - oh poo! I meant to mention that on that site if you use the product search with just the word konjac it will bring up the info. ::) ]Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out0 -
Konjac sounds interesting, but I'm not doing too bad on the GI diet and walking at the moment. Husband is thinking of leaving me though 'cos it's wrong time of month also and apparently I'm unbearable! Don't know what he means! Anyway, I'm surprised so many of you have tried this Zenecal. Do GPs dish them out quite freely? Always thought you had to be Huuuge.
I'm not to happy that I way as much as most of the celebrities on the new fit club programme (not the darts guy!).
Keep it up folks - we'll get there and be sooo happy, and have all that money we've saved on this site too. Can't be bad.0 -
Its spelt Xenical , pronounced Zenical. You have to fit a certain criteria to be able to get these pills. They are not a miracle pill by a long shot. Taken willy nilly without following a low fat diet and you will SUFFER the consequences which can be terrible. (You wouldnt go nowhere without spare undies ::) ) I got my pack yesterday (this is my third time on them) I say third, but I dont mean third cus these pills failed me before. The first time I was on these pills I lost 40lbs in 4mths! Unfortunatly personal issues led to me failing - not the pills. I must stress though that you ONLY get the side effects if you dont stick to a dietplan of low fat food. You dont get them just for taking them. Dont let that put you off. 8)0

Hi everyone, happy new year to you all
Haven't had the courage to get weighed since Christmas. Back on track with the diet and gym this week (well kind of) and will get weighed in the morning (Friday).0 -
How about we all weigh ourselves tomorrow, and report success/failure, (sorry, not failure - need for encouragement!) each Friday? Any thoughts?
Oh, by the way, for a fitness video, try Dynaband - you use a resistance band and it is supposed to tone you and build muscle really effectively - much cheaper than the gym.0 -
Do you know vaguely what the criteria are for Xenical?0

Hi everyone and a happy new year to you all.
Went to Slimming world on 22nd Dec and got weighed. Went again on the wednesday between Christmas and New Year and I had lost a pound. I went yesterday and had lost another pound so that has set me up for losing more weight this year so wish me luck and here we go for another year and good luck to you all0 -
Happy New Year folks & waves and smiles to all the new & 'old' faces appearing on the thread.
I re-started my diet yesterday morning, having given the last of the biscuits, crisps, chocolates and nuts to my parents as they aren't starting their diets until next week!
Had a really good day yesterday, ate loads of fruit, with tuna & prawn salad for lunch and felt very good about myself. I was really relieved to be back on track again as I can now hold my head up high because I feel good again, not just to avoid seeing the scales glaring at me aboandoned & lonely in the corner ;D
Had pasta salad for lunch today - yes I am still doing the Slimming World (red & green days) diet.
I'm booked in with the gym for my induction next Monday night and then after next week (& the first 5 internal exams for the new job) is out of the way then I will be going along 3 times a week in an effort to cajole this lazy lump of a body into a more toned & fit temple of health.
Am I mad or does anyone else feel relieved when they get back onto a diet after a planned break?
Anyway, whittering now... put some weight back on but enjoyed every pound of it - will enjoy it even more when it starts to fall off again! Will check in again in a few days & report week 1's weight loss stats.
Well done getting back on track so soon VelvetGlove.I'm going to resume my diet next week (unlike you I can't bear to give away the last of the Christmas goodies in the cupboard ::)).
Like you, I'll be re-starting the Slimming World way of eating ... I don't class this as a "diet" 'cos it doesn't feel like one as you can eat so much on it. During the last few months of last year, I managed to lose one and a half stone on it and never felt hungry (put a few pounds back on at Christmas though of course ::)). A few people have told me that it works for a while, then their weight seems to stabilise, so it will be interesting to see what happens.
Anyway, just wanted to say good luck to you and everyone else and let's make this a really good year for losing those excess pounds and feeling good about ourselves.
A happy and healthy new year to everyone.Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0 -
New Slimming World class has opened locally that I may be able to get to. Please can one of you fans tell me about it: costs, what happens in a class etc.Signature removed for peace of mind0
