he he
iam off to amazon to buy an exercise dvd
anyone got any ideas of which ones are good?
theres so many celebritys doing them, i just get exhausted looking!!
I have got the Mr Motivator 10 min workouts, but had it for years and found it really boring when I did it last week.
So, went on ebay and purchased Geri Yoga and a different Mr M one, then onto Amazon and have ordered the Dance Workouts DVD. Should give me a bit of variety!!0 -
Did anyone manage to get the GI index book published in association with Tesco?. It was featured in todays (Sunday) Times, but I couldnt find a tesco in my area with it, and it isnt listed online at tesco.com.
I didn't get the GI book with the Times but I have sent for it from the tesco.com website.
Has anyone had success with the GI diet?0 -

I do know people who have had success with this diet, but personally it's not for me. When I tried it, I didn't actually find that the "recommended" foods filled me up ... could be something to do with the fact I've got such a large appetite. ::) I also find myself "fighting" against this type of diet and eating more than I should do.
For me, it has to be Slimming World ... you can eat loads and still lose weight. ;DWins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0 -

I did slimming world a few years ago and it worked for me too. Sadly I gave all my books away and don't really want to join a class again. And can't remember the menus :-[ The memory goes at about the same time you get the middle age spread ::)0 -

I'm lucky ... my next-door neighbour has the books (though they're a little old) and I've "borrowed" them for now. Managed to lose a stone and a half in the last few months without attending a class, but put a few pounds on over the Christmas period and finding it hard to get motivated again. ::)Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0 -
Hi Jafa
Try purchasing th Slimming World magazines available from newsagents, they are full of recipes and tips etc and there are also recipe books that you can purchase. Or you could try there website - full of good things to help you with your quest.
Good luck0 -
Hi Linda - thanks for the idea. I might just do that... And then compare to my GI booklet when that arrives....
I'm getting fed up with this dieting lark >:(
BUT MUST PERSEVERE0 -
Thank you Velvet Glove especially but everyone else who told me about Slimming World. I am a bit wary of anything like that because I think it's too easy to get fixated on diet and weight and all the rest of it, when it needs to be a lifestyle attitude, but I keep getting stuck with my lifestyle because of all the demands of family etc.
Also I have real difficulties getting out in the evening partly because of what the rest of the family are up to but also because I get so tired, brain just shuts down around 8 pm and fails to function the next day if I go out, but this new class starts at 6 pm which will probably work for me more weeks than not.
May also phone a friend who I know wants to lose weight and see if we can go together, which will help me make it!
Final question: do the Slimming World recipes and meal suggestions take account of the fact that you may be trying to feed a fussy family at speed, so want simple, no fuss ideas, or do they think you will spend an hour every night dicing this and parboiling that?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Forgive me if you've already been advised to do this but, if you have a look at their web site, it gives you quite a few recipe ideas. They're also very adaptable once you know what you're doing and I would say, yes, you should be able cook speedy recipes ... just a question of cooking the right foods on the right days. ;D
Personally, I do a lot of stirfrys mixing meat and the "right" veg ... speedy, nutritious and adaptable. More often than not, I'll get a cheap mixture from the supermarket and add to it.
Good luck and keep us informed. :)Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0
