I want to get my weight off by March as I am going to Spain with a group of friends and want to look good by the pool. I can only ever stick to a diet when I have something to work towards. This time last year waas easy for me as I had a size 12 bridesmaid dress I knew I had to get into at the end of Jan.

Thing is, after the wedding it allplonked back on :-[

Off for a stomp around Lakeside soon. ;D

So, target weight is 10 stone and I am going to do a combination of healthy eating and exercise.

I just pop in now and then.... :)

Hi everyone, Im sorry to say Ive not had time to look through all 9 pages but I need advice.

Im 5ft and weight 10 stone and used to be 7s 13 but after having my daughter last year its just piled on :'( any way On sunday I have started a DIET or rather more healthy eating.

My problem is Im rubbish at meal Ideas I buy all this healthy food and never know what to do with it hence it all goes to waste or I just eat the same thing day in day out ie.... jacket pots and salad and end up going to bed feeling starved.

Any suggestions or websites would be great.

Try the moneysaving oldstyle thread as they have lots of recipes and ideas.

You could buy a slimming magazine purely for recipes or else just adapt what you already do and grill or bake rather than fry.etc.

One of my friends gave my the Weightwatchers recipe books for Xmas - they are full of easy to make ideas. Not sure where she got them, but try looking on ebay.

I have been reading the comments on Zenical etc and feel apprehensive of the side effects also feel that I am not really eating high fat food just a lot of actual food.

In desperation I sent away for Hoodia Gordonia (it is an extract of the cactus that the newspapers have been raving about) and it arrived yesterday. So far it does seem to be reducing my appetite and making it easier to stick to my eating plan but that could just be because I have high hopes of it.

It will be interesting to see if there is any difference on the scales when I get weighed on Thursday evening.

I'm very sceptical of all these "appetite suppresents", having tried the majority and failed to lose any weight (just a load of dosh ::)). Personally, I find myself "fighting" against them and ending up either not losing any weight or putting it on!

Personally, after years of fighting the flab (and at last beginning to succeed), I don't think you can beat good healthy eating combined with lots of walking ... wins out every time and is definitely the cheapest way of slimming down and keeping fit. ;D

I agree with you that sometimes you want to eat something and so far Slimming World has been working well for me. The reason I am trying an appetite suppressant is to stop me getting bored and to feel I am doing somrthingnew.

As I say to my daughters It is not exactly that I am hungry but my teeth are getting bored. ;D ;D ;D

Here's another suggestion, join the Tesco Health Living Club - they've got various offers this mailing including a weekly plan for the GI diet which looks quite useful. Plus you get some coupons to use if you ever go to Tesco. They've got a special offer of 10 weeks membership of E-diets for the price of 8 as well, don't think I'm going to sign up to this but they are giving away a free copy of a GI diet book of some kind. Sorry can't look for more info now being booted off pc.

I like it! But that's it, we do eat when we're bored. Drinking water is supposed to be better but sooooo boring!

Happy New Year folks & waves and smiles to all the new & 'old' faces appearing on the thread.

I re-started my diet yesterday morning, having given the last of the biscuits, crisps, chocolates and nuts to my parents as they aren't starting their diets until next week!

Had a really good day yesterday, ate loads of fruit, with tuna & prawn salad for lunch and felt very good about myself. I was really relieved to be back on track again as I can now hold my head up high because I feel good again, not just to avoid seeing the scales glaring at me aboandoned & lonely in the corner ;D

Had pasta salad for lunch today - yes I am still doing the Slimming World (red & green days) diet.

I'm booked in with the gym for my induction next Monday night and then after next week (& the first 5 internal exams for the new job) is out of the way then I will be going along 3 times a week in an effort to cajole this lazy lump of a body into a more toned & fit temple of health.

Am I mad or does anyone else feel relieved when they get back onto a diet after a planned break?

Anyway, whittering now... put some weight back on but enjoyed every pound of it - will enjoy it even more when it starts to fall off again! Will check in again in a few days & report week 1's weight loss stats.
Sad because you don't know what to do? Comping question? Take a look in the Comping Guide to find out
