Can anyone help with a recipe please?? On page 28 of the 2004 Food Optimising Book there is a photo of beans, chips and some kind of sweetcorn 'burger'. I'm pretty sure I've seen a recipe for this somewhere, either in a magazine,or onthe website (I thought it was onthe website before they re-vamped it). Does anyone know how these are made?
It looks like sweetcorn, onion, then is it potato? Egg?
Alternatively, if anyone knows a good Green Day recipe to make some kind of sweetcorn burger/fritter etc, i'd love to know for dinner tonight!!"Stay Wonky":D

I have to take lunch with me (usually HM soup, LOVE it!) otherwise I find that not only have I not left my desk, but I haven't eaten, it's time to go home, I feel ghastly and MUST HAVE CHOCOLATE! Then I get home and have a sandwich (because I haven't had lunch, you see), and THEN cook tea.
In my defence I usually leave work around 3 pm, part-timers, huh! But it was gone 5 pm today.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

i do a sweetcorn and onion burger with mashed potato, mix in the sweetcorn, onions (and we put peas in too) shape into about 1/4 inch thick burgers and fry it in frylight. not sure if this is the recipe your after, but its tasty and very filling. if i make too much, i shape the rest and freeze for upto a month. just defrost before cooking. they are also tasty done under the grill.£2 saver club 30th sept 198 £2 coins = £396(£350 banked)0 -
Weighed myself this morning and I've lost 1½lbs this week. Quite pleased with that as I've been poorly with sinusitis and spent two days doing nothing but lying on the sofa this week!
Tried the wedding dress on and I can get the zip up now, but the material pulls a bit tight, so I need a bit more off. It's going to look fab thoughHere I go again on my own....0 -
Looks like I'm the first to let the side down - gained 1lb this week - aaarrrrgghh. Could have something to do with the fact I'm premenstural and I've got exams next week. (plus all that birthday cake!!!)
One thing I did find really useful is my pedometer. I've discovered on the days when I'm studying for exams or doing essays or reading I do less than 1000 steps a day. I had no idea it was so low - so on the plus side at least I've discovered part of the problem (the other part being what I shove in my gob) I think because I always used to walk a lot in my head I still do so a real reality check this week. Hope everyone else is doing better. Well done to everyone whos lost weight this week. Must do better!!~A mind is a terrible thing to waste on housework~0 -
Congrats to all who have lost weight,
Chugalug don't worry I 'm sure you will lose wight next week.
I have stayed the same this week, I'm going to keep a food diary so I can see where I am going wrong.
Good luck for next week.0 -
Well done to everyone - whether you lost this week or not - keep up the effort and it will pay off.
Well, I'm now 11st 1lb so I've lost 4lb this week!Very pleased as this is the first loss since Xmas - I"M BACK ON THE WAGON! (sorry for shouting but somebody noticed my trousers are loose and I'm chuffed!
)
Just a question if anybody knows? At 6pm hubby got up and I thought I'd go and spend a penny. I then weighed myself and it said 11st 0lb. I got back into bed and 1/2 hour later I wanted to show hubby my new weight and when I got back on the scales it said 11st 1lb.I'm sticking with this weight to be on the safe side - but how could I put on 1 lb in 1/2 hour?!!
It wasn't flashing between the two weights and deciding each direction either
