Has anyone tried the Gillian McKeith plan? We started it today after spending all weekend buying all the necessary fruit and veg. ( 10 cucumbers for 1 week for two people!) I want to try and lose roughly a stone - I am 11 stone 4 and 5'5.
Any advice or past experience helpful!
Thanks.“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”

I've been messing around going up and down for years -trying every slimming club under the sun. I've tried to post on here before but then joined another online slimming club.I've wasted so much money over the years:mad: : . Now I think I've got to get a grip once and for all. So I'm going to post on here once a week. My start weight is 10stone 10 pounds and I want to get down to 9 stone 12 pounds.
Thanks for listening to me.

So far its working out expensive - we spent £76 in Sainsbury's on fruit and veg alone  and there are no choices - you eat what she says and nothing else! So for breakfast we had 1 cup of warm water with lemon, 1 cup of nettle tea, a bowl of strawberries, blueberries and raspberries (v.nice!) and some porridge made with rice milk.
Mid morning snack of 1 yellow pepper.
For lunch I am having 1/2 a bag of mixed salad, a tin of tuna and some cucumber.
Strange looks in the office and my stomach was rumbling at midday
I will let you know.....“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”

Philippa36 - Try Lidls for the veg/fruit to cut costs, I can't see the difference between a yellow and red pepper so going for a red one instead (yes I got the book
) - Mixed leaves, erm some salad stuff cut up
Its going to be expensive for me as well at the moment, Strawberries (£1.99 a tub  ) I am going to ride along to the best I can, and see what happens.
Could try out to be online diet buddies if you wish- and compare the difference let say in 4 weeks as per the book? I am looking to start on Wednesday when I am off from work for 5 days. I am dreading eating new foods, as I never eaten things like Blueberries and Miso etc..

Mike,
The blueberries are lovely - I had never tried them and was a little apprehensiveMiso scares me to death  cost a fortune and I could only get the paste - hopefully off to the health food shop after work to hunt the powder down. I will persevere - especially after buying all the stuff! BTW Tesco's sell juicers (their own brand) for £7:95 and so far, its the best buy - the carrot and celery juice is surprisingly pleasant
Sure we can be diet buddies
Edit: I couldn't cope without one cup of coffee with milk and 2 sugars  but I figure I am good for the rest of the day “I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”

One pound off again!! Back to 8 pounds gone this month.
Managed to walk 9100 steps on Saturday, but only 3000 yesterday.
The gillian mckeith plan - i bought the bottle of living food energy from Boots, and have never tried anything so disgusting in my life. You are supposed to add to soups and juices. I've tried it in OJ (made it go green and taste bitter) and cranberry juice (went from red to purple - didn't taste quite as bad as in the OJ).
Have you bought any of this? If so - how have you tried taking it and what did it taste like? I do like the fact that you are not on a diet - but wouldn't be buying strawberries in January.
1) far too expensive
2) completely out of season so grown very artificially
3) because of 2 - they don't taste of much
4) because of 2, i don't think they could possibly be as nutririous.
Let me know how you get on.
if you like blueberries, blueberries, banana and milk make a gorgeous smoothie0 -

The strawberries in most supermarkets at the moment are reduced - still relatively expensive but they taste good in smoothies and juices. I do agree that no strawberries taste as good as they did when I was a kid, but I think peaches and nectarines taste worse - they never ripenIts probably a lot cheaper to do when the fruit is in season but if I wait then I won't lose any weight
Let me know how you get on.
if you like blueberries, blueberries, banana and milk make a gorgeous smoothiebut the fruit itself tastes good and you can make it thinner with just water

i thought you could have some soya milk?
Sorry - i have got the GM book, but only bit and bob at it from time to time. I don't think i would fancy all the millet, miso and quinwa. I have tried eating less sugar, salt, caffeine, fat and processed meat since reading the book. It helps that i'm trying to cook everything from scratch, and i love this time of year for home made soups and stews.0 -

Erm......probably! We did have rice milk this morning in our porridge. Dunno if o/h made it properly but it was really lumpy - tasted quite good though for someone who likes their porridge with cream and lots of sugar :rotfl:“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”
