Only lost 1 lb this week. Not really surprised as I was very premenstral and lost control of my diet and gave into chocolate urges. I'll have to try harder this week (sounds like a school report!).
Congratulations to everyone who has lost weight

A pound lost is still a pound closer to your goal. Well done :)

I think I've worked out what one of my problems is. I'm a born 'time and motion' expert ... if there's an easy way of doing something, I'll always choose that way rather than the hard way. And if I need something from two places, I'll always work out the 'best' route to avoid doubling back or having to carry something heavy too far. It means I'm quite economical in the calorie burning dept as well ...

  • hi, i'm looking for some advice, at the beginning of last year i lost 2 stone with slimming world, and have stuck to it pretty much ever since. yet sice xmas (not over xmas oddly enough) half a stone has crept back on and i want to nip it in the bud before it goes any higher. could it be cos i stick to fairly similar foods (i do green days all the time) or have you any ideas as to how i could work out whats going wrong?
any pointers greatly appreciated. it was my fourth attempt to lose the weight, and i was so pleased i finally cracked it.

  • is your calorie intake too low?

I would recommend trying to eat an extra 1-200 calories a day for a week.

or, as you say, try eating some different types of food, as if you eat the same every day your body can become intolerant to certain types of food, so perhaps a couple of red days to break it up.

what about exercise? how much do you currently do? If none - try and fit a bit in. If lots, you are probably eating too little to carry on losing weight,

    hope that helps,

  • i suppose it could be although i eat 4 meals a day. breakfast of fresh fruit salad, lunch usually jacket potato and beans, or rice and veggies, tea usually pasta and veggies, or something similar and cereal for supper for using b options up. and i eat 2 bananas one mid morning and one mid afternoon and have a yogurt after lunch and tea. i drink a lot more coffee than i used too, wondered if that might be a problem. i doin;t do much excersise to be fair. i work in a office, and with the dark nights i don't go out walking in the evening like i did in the summer months. thanks for the reply. much appreciated.

  • looking at what you eat, there is very little protein here. Are you vegetarian?

Perhaps have a bit of lean meat or fish and salad for one of your meals. Or lentil soup is very good for an appropriate mix of carbs and protein in one meal.

also, what are your portion sizes like with the rice and pasta? I know i'm rubbish at working out how much of these to cook, and then end up with far too much on my plate. Carbs are only supposed to be one quarter of your plate. (I usually have at least half a plate. (sorry - i shouldn't assume that you make the same mistakes i make)

i'd pick one thing to change for a week, and see if this makes a difference. If you mix and match, you won't have a clue what worked.

    Good luck.

  • i'm not vegetarian particuarly, i just don't like meat much. i will eat fish, but only tuna or salmon. picky eater basically. i do eat eggs (don't they have protein in? does anyone know?) i eat lots of rice and pasta, usually a full bowl full which is maybe only a quarter veggies if that, so maybe thats part of the problem. thanks for the ideas, i'll have a bash at those, its much appreciated.

  • protein is mostly meat, although veggie alternatives are eggs, cheese (which can be low fat, cottage cheese etc) also beans, nuts, pulses. Do you like things like hoummous to have on jacket potatoes?

Also people assume that things like cheese and nuts are really fattening, but only in large amounts like everything else.

Let us know how you get on.

Can you either walk a little bit on the way to work or nip out at lunchtime? I know I struggle with getting out of the office, but it does me good!

Maybe try keeping a food diary for a bit. SW always suggested this, as it makes you realise how much, and when you eat.
I tend to eat stuff and forget it immediately afterwards, as i go on the hunt for something else yummy :o
    Good luck!
