  • Good luck and may all your losses be big ones (lbs not £'s!)

Sadly only half a pound but at least it's off and I am still motivated so next week hopefully will be more.

I was listening to Midweek on Radio 4 this morning, and Audrey Eyton was on it, author of the F Plan diet which I was enthusing about the other day. Apparently she's now written The F2 Diet, came out on Monday by the look of it.

I thought she was talking a lot of sense (and Libby Purves reckoned she was the sprightliest septuagenarian on the programme since Joan Collins!). She said her advice on losing weight was always based on what she was prepared to do herself, which is not a lot, so she's got no time for all these diets where you have to eat a special breakfast, different every day.

And best of all, she was saying that it's possible to come home exhausted, and cook wholemeal pasta, and serve it with a sauce you bought in the supermarket (shhh, don't tell the Old Stylers I might want to do this! actually I usually use just a tin of tomatoes)!

Anyway, I reckon I shall buy the new F2 book, and hope she hasn't made it too complicated!

But I'm not having a good week really, very tired and did something so disastrous at work I have awarded myself the Wally of the Century Award, and I don't think I'm going to lose that - or any weight! - any time soon!

  • Keep going, it'll probably catch up next week. That's what happened with me when I was doing SW, I'd lose nothing or half a pound one week then lose three the following week.

If it was half a pound you'd gained you'd not be happy, so half a pound lost is still a loss! Well done :D

I was a bit down about it but five of us joined together and all of the others haven't lost what they put on at Christmas/New Year, I was already a pound down last week so if I look at it that way I'm doing OK! I haven't had any alcohol since the nght before NewYear's Eve (excluding the odd hot toddy for medicinal purposes) and I think I will keep off the pop till I lose some more ! There is a challenge!!

  • could you say if the new F plan is significantly different to the other - it does seem to make sense to eat more food that your body can't turn into fat
  • I don't know if it's any help but there's an offer for the F2 book on the back of Allbran bran flakes. Still sticking with WW though - report my weigh in tomorrow :)

  • lost 5 pounds this week, first week back on SW plan since November. First goal is to lose another stone before 14 Feb (we are going to Amsterdam for 3 nights) which is the weight I was when I stopped doing SW back in October.

Next goal will be another stone and a half by 7 May, when we go to Spain. That will be my lowest weight for probably over 10 years, but I'll still have another 4 and a half stone to go after that!!

Discovered Quinoa - bit like a cross between bulgar wheat and cous cous. Very nice yesterday on a Green day mixed with some Chick Peas, chopped coriander, lemon juice and some Schwartz spicy seasoning.

I'd like to lose 3 pounds this week (weigh in is next Monday), so I'm keeping everything crossed!!!

No, sorry, 'cos I haven't seen the new book yet. Will probably skim it in a bookshop and decide if it looks too complicated or not and then look at the offer Alfie mentioned or get it from Amazon!

Talking of complicated, I spotted a GI recipe book very cheap in one of those cut-price bookshops the other day. Worked out why it was cheap too, there was a list of the different kinds of meals in the book at the front, but no page numbers! Not to mention the fact that this lady reckoned a workday lunch could be an omelette with mussels! Even though we do have full cooking facilities where I work, I'm NOT about to start mucking about with mussels there! (To be truthful, I'm not likely to start mucking about with mussels anywhere, but that's another story!)
