So, there was no refresh for the iMac at the WWDC.
Do you think this spells the beginning of the end for the iMac or do you think they'll refresh the line in the near future?

Nothing but a minor bump for the Mac Pro either. It's now basically a 3 year old machine and hasn't even got USB 3 or thunderbolt and still has a crap (and now ancient) GPU in the base config. Apple really don't care about pro users.
Not sure about the iMac they've been pretty quiet about it recently haven't they? Same with the Mini too - they only seem to care about portable devices these days.0 -
I believe (and hope) that a new line will be out over the summer. Nothing was mentioned today as they were already previewing iOS6, and Mountain Lion (as they will work together) and unveiling the new retina MacBook Pro as it's a radical new design rather than an upgrade.
I think the iMac is too valuable to Apple to get rid of due to it's appearance in offices and media suites as a desktop. My fear is that they are actually trying to do away with cd/dvd drives. I don't wanna buy all music off iTunes, I like getting CD's and having the hard copy...0 -

when did you last see one in use?
were there many of them?0 -
Well I was really hoping for an iMac refresh and have been waiting patiently for the past 4-5 months! I don't want a laptop so if I want to buy now I have no option but to buy a PC. }
The stock iMac @ £999 is way out of day and grossly over priced now.0 -
I don't know why everyone sounds so surprised, they can't update everything. Besides which "way out of date hardware" and "over-priced" has been apples business model for years.
I'm sure if their energies and focus were on what their consumers wanted rather than suing everyone who is competing with them, or price fixing books and other anticompetitive practices in an effort to create a monoploy for themselves, they might have pulled off an update... but thats not the case.0 -

Or perhaps, as you said in your first line, they can't update everything....0 -
Just saying their focus is elsewhere and its not unlike apple to overprice underpowered hardware.0
