  • Wow - check you out!!!! You're like a one-woman whirlwind! HUGE congratulations on the new job. When do you start?!

:rotfl:Do you really think so? Thank you! I don't feel it at the moment. Start new job on Monday though so that's good.
The date in brackets on the top figure is when I started debt-busting, the date in brackets on the bottom figure is when I last updated the DFD. Keeps me motivated!

Aaah I see, so in five months you've reduced your DFD by 9 months?! Not to be sniffed at at all, well done you :T
I'm Just off to 'sign on' for the past 2 weeks and let them know I've got a job!!!

Yes I do, and lots of others on here do too, by the looks of it! You're doing really really well. Hopefully you'll be able to sit back and see it when your bank statements come through in the next couple of months and you can feel the extra pennies weighing down your back pocket!

  • Well, the JC seem confident I will receive my JSA payments in the next couple of days (nothing yet) and claim is now all closed down. Hopefully that'll be another few ££ to throw at the debt mountain!!

Looking forward to starting work but wondering how will I find time to read all the great diaries here?! :rotfl:

    Todays to do list includes:

    1. Sort through the mountain of paperwork in the office and deal with anything pressing
    2. Make a lasagne for tea
    3. Wipe all the skirting boards
    4. Remember I am not talking to DH :rotfl:

    Best get on

  • DH and I sadly lost a family member last year (almost a year ago) and obviously with all the upset it didn't even cross our mind that they might have left anything to us but heard on the family grapevine that we may be about to receive a small inheritance - perhaps £3k or similar? Feel awful for being excited about it but it could be the chance to clear another card. Don't want to get my hopes up but please let it be true! :j

Hi, just found you in your new home! I just don't know why everything goes wrong when you start debt busting, I can remember how gutted I felt paying for a prescription, getting home and finding we already had the stuff!! You've just got to remember that if you hadn't had the LBM you would have spent that and more.

Re the credit cards, IMHO it's got to be option (a) otherwise you're wasting money. Can you work out how much the difference in interest would be, withdraw that every month, pop it into a piggy bank and spend it on treats? That would be a psychological boost!

Crickey, your DH! perhaps you need to stick the credit card bills on the bathroom mirror (although if he's like mine he still won't read them!!)

Good luck on Monday, enjoy your last few days at home.

Thanks Barbeduk! Silly question I've wanted to ask for ages, how do you pronounce your username? I suspect its probably Barbed U.K. but when I read your posts I always read it as bar-be-duck and it makes me :D
Love the bathroom mirror idea but he'd just peer underneath them and carry on :rotfl: We are still not talking :p

ETA: I mentioned that I didn't know if I was in the right place and so one of the guys that looks after the forum must've moved me? I quite like it over here :j

Well, busy day of sorting through paperwork today but feeling more organised for doing it. Realised my driving licence needs renewing - £20! Grrrr. Had to clear the next directory account I had forgotten too which was £50 but gone now. Almost had a no spending day but then had to go to T***o for chocolate as it was all just getting too much :D

DH gets paid tomorrow so must sure all bills are covered. Waiting to get my JSA through as a kind of emergency fund before I use our last pennies to pay mbna off but they are dragging their heels...suprise suprise.

*sigh* Getting there I think but v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y.
