After being on the phone almost all morning this is where I have got to...
- [STRIKE] Work out how I am going to eek out the groceries past the weekend. Reading some of the great ideas on here it MUST be possible. Found some chicken and fish in the freezer so reckon we can make it into next week just buying milk and a bit of fruit.[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE] Do energy comparison to see if it is worth contacting Landlord and asking to switch[/STRIKE] Had a very long and confusing discussion with British Gas man. He said we may be better to switch tariffs and to look on line but the cheaper (variable) tariff seems to have exit penalties if you then change your mind and want to switch back. How are you supposed to know if it will be cheaper until you try? Anyone any experience of this? I am no further forward on this front!!!
- [STRIKE] Ask to pay council tax over 12m[/STRIKE] Spoke to very lovely lady who sorted it in a second! Payments reduced to £121 as per my new SOA.
- [STRIKE] Start spending diary - small setback here in that I had to collect my dry cleaning this morning as needed suit for interview and it was £66 . Shouldn't need to spend any other money today though. DH and I were going out to dinner tonight but I am going to whip up a masterpeice(!) instead  [/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE] Look into reducing home and mobile phone bills (I'd forgotten DH mobile in my SOA which is £30 pm) [/STRIKE] Well, turns out neither tariff can be reduced yet but I do have the dates now of when they can and WILL.
- Check dog food prices online (thanks Barbeduk) Poor dog already looks miserable at the lack of scraps coming his way :rotfl:
- [STRIKE] CUT UP CARDS[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE] Find a cheap breadmaker[/STRIKE] Turns out hands are fine
- [STRIKE] Find clubcard, nectar card and boots card and put in purse [/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE] Sort bits for car boot/ebay[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE] Check out the website link Flat Eric posted, looks interesting but only had a really quick look[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE] Set aside some time each day for chasing work[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE] Clean the house [/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE] Do snowball calculator - Thanks for the link!! [/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Get my bum over to the old style board and look at recipes[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE] Check dress refunds have been processed and update signature
- Freezer and cupboard inventory[/STRIKE]
- Work out how to get onto the electoral roll as we are not currently registered apparently.
Debt? What debt?

Our rubbish old desktop pc that we've had for about 7 years finally bit the dust so have had to visit the shops and buy a new one :mad::mad: They were trying so hard to sell us a macbook air (£1199) so feel we did ok to walk out with a clearance laptop for £449 but still feel
Just when you think you are doing okay something comes along to set you back. Such is life I suppose. Feel like giving up today which is not the right attittude and not like me at all. Might just have today to sulk and then take stock and get on.
