Dh assures me the accountant has dealt with it all. I don't remeber hearing anything after I dropped the outstanding bits and bobs off.

We are so lucky to have a good income, but what we pay in tax, in percentage terms, makes me shudder.
  • Painter didn't bother turning up yesterday *rage* but has reappeared today..... Yesterday was spent at the zoo and pizza eating (all 6 of us- rare and lovely) and then Skyfall last night (ooooohhhhhh!!!).
Off to cinema again this morning(all 6 plus sister, nephews, nieces, my mum) then a mooch round the shops.
House still in utter chaos, eBay still in bag, CS bags now hidden in piles......

  • Hi All

Am really behind with the posts so apologies for not replying personally.

Progress report..i had to give my card details the other day and looked at the date 6/13 and thought 'oh no out of date where is my new card??' Normally that would mean turfing through paperwork flinging it in all directions and making more heaps.
Thanks to you guys I systematically waded through a whole heap far too much for shredder so it has gone in the fire. Now i can close the envelope file. Didn't find the replacement card cus i realised after we are in 2012 and the card had not expired anyhow!!!

Part of my defense is that in my job i work with a lot of batch numbers and expiry dates and often have to remind myself what year we are in :rotfl:
  • I think I may have agreed to form a band with somebody last night at a pub birthday bash.....and they seem to be making plans for my birthday in January.........

    Oh dear :D

Oooh, the pub can be a dangerous place to make promises!

I am in the middle of the deep clean, getting ready for our guests this weekend. The beds are still unmade and the floors aren't clean but I have cleaned the internal doors and inside the fridge. I know how to prioritise!

I know I keep banging on about my quilt but I can't quite accept it's finished and I know it's something I could never have done before the house was sorted so it's yet another positive that has come from dealing with all the junk. If anyone is interested in seeing a picture there's one on the "my home is a mess" thread, post 9294.

It's a lovely quilt Alec, although when first reading your post I read it as "Guilt"!

Jo-Jo it all sounds very positive and fun. How are you feeling now with the new meds?

I'm sitting here in a reflective mood. I won't go into all the details, but I seem to be always repeating life situations. Not of my own making, it's just the way it happens, although of course my reactions are probably the exact same each time, albeit a little more jaded and a little more sad. Primarily I am dealing with people (family) that see me as a, well a real witch. Someone who is unhinged, malicious, manipulative, unreasonable and so on and so on. Now from a "normal" perspective, I'm none of these things (well, I may be unreasonable at times!) and I realise it's their issues, so in the main I have extricated myself from them. BUT...through my DD I have been returned to the madness that is my family. She has special needs so I make allowances but now, it is taking it's toll on our relationship. She is lying and becoming devious and listening to reams and reams of stuff that totally blackens my name. Why she chooses to do this is beyond me and we have had discussion after discussion. I don't know what to do anymore. I find it hard not to try and "fix" this. I can already see me crumbling into chaos again, my kitchen being the first thing to resemble my inner thoughts. It's a very fine line this tight rope between order and chaos.
