    Sheba, yum, yum. ;)

Well, I've cleared out my cupboards of the mountain of cous cous and other AF remnants (is that spelled correctly?), which I've decided if I haven't touched by now, I'm never going to touch them, so OOD food when bought, is even more OOD. It's not that I mind, OOD food, but have decided having a store cupboard built of cous cous and bulgar wheat is not for me (especially as I suspect I may have an intolerance to gluten,), plus in an effort to say "I'm worth it", I have decided to get what I like (and will use) rather than what I think I should like. The OOD food has gone in the bin, I was too tired to bung it in the food caddy, which was already overflowing with dried goods I've had years. The rest of in date food will go to the food bank, if I can find the ruddy thing as it seems to be impossible to name a store where I can drop it off, on their website and there is no contact details. I can see me hauling it about for months in my car and then it will be OOD.

I now have no store cupboard to speak of. Well apart from the million tbags (you think I'm joking ). And the pasta that I got when on offer.

Now I'm aching and have awful pain in my lower abdomen which is dragging and I always suffer from, but for some reason it's worse when standing in the kitchen. Not sure if it's the cold stone floor, but even so, why would it hurt from that area. Very odd.

Anyway, if I mention AF and cous cous in the same breath ever again, shoot me. :o
  • In the vein of Because I'm Worth It, the Fella hasn't taken the 'flat' as it was actually a room with no kitchen or bathroom.

    Bah.

Do you have a prolapse down below? that can cause a dragging and aching x
ETA - sorry not meant to be personal and not medical advice x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

That's Ok Molly, I know the cause, and it's not that, it just seems odd that it's worse after standing on cold floor. xx

Jo-Jo, what a shame about the "flat".

    WOW!! Seriously impressed Byatt!

Blossom - so you know from experience it's not good to eat...:D

Nothing terribly useful done here decluttering/sorting wise this weekend, other than swapping over of towels and bedding (two sets of each only) and washing them. But nothing bought in either.
All clothes washingalso up to date and hung up (not much I have needs ironing)

I did get on my hands and knees and wash the kitchen floor today...while fantasising about a steam mop:D.
And I have started... finally started... doing the 'mosaic the kitchen splash back' project.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Am done... sooo tired. After today am determined a. to de-rchard this place and b. to never let it get so grimy again. Urgh :o

We always had the fallback that it is untidy but at least it's clean - am ashamed to say this isn't true :o

I think this weekend has been my LBM, I have been on the verge for a while.

Had a chat with OH about it - he is still a bit in denial but certainly more amenable to change and I talked a bit about my reasons for hoarding, particularly food.

It came to a head for him yesterday when he went to the freezer to get milk but couldn't find it and realised if he didn't put everything back in exactly the same place it wouldn't fit. He was rather stressed and I never meant to cause that :( so really need to address the issue.

On the plus side we have a rather uncertain couple of months ahead income-wise (he is leaving his salaried job and going contracting) but at least I know we will be alright for food :rotfl:
  • I hate to encourage hoarding of any kind - but if it has a purpose ... cat litter becomes scarce as soon as we get snow (deliveries get a low priority behind food, and people use it instead of grit) so it may be worth stocking up now.
I used home delivery in the early days of 't'net because I thought it would come in bulk from a warehouse, but it was usually OOS as shops carry so little stock
Pets at Home usually have a mountain of Catsan though
You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow
  • Morning all :)
I escaped the house of painter induced chaos to go to work this morning LOL. Painter isnt here today but obvs everything is still EVERYWHERE. I wish I could post a pic of the corner of my front room- tranquil home of the cow rug of glory...........it now has a pile of coats on the pouffe, the shoe rack that lives behind the front door and just HEAPS everywhere. Its a LOVELY excuse to do nothing around the house though while the kids are off (so its not really worth tidying anyway!) I am just focussing on next week when the kids are back, the painter has slung his hook and life is less chaotic.
I have started painting the bathroom so at the weekend I went and bought the rest of the paint needed, an ivy for the shelves (a challenge to keep it alive) a lime green hand towel, bath mat and flannels, and some green glasses for toothbrushes, razors etc. I also bought a couple of green glass jars with green candles in for bathroom too. I swear to all the Deities as I put them in my basket I could hear you lot shouting "RICHARD!!!!DUST GATHERERS!!!CLUTTER!!!" BUT I bought them anyway cos theyll look nice :p

SO no deRicharding here but I have sorted a HUGE bag for fleabay that I need to steel myself to list

SHame about the not flat JoJo. Grrrrrr at false advertising!

Oh and DD and I are just watching The Hoarder Next Door :)
According to Stelios we hoard due to fear of rejection and abandonment issues.......
That rings scarily true for me. ANyone else?

Oh and DD and I are just watching The Hoarder Next Door :)

And [STRIKE]I've[/STRIKE] we've just got up after a gig last night. :p

Was rather a nice day, yesterday - used up the grand sum of 2 leeks, 5 new potatoes and a stock cube and had the best leek & potato soup ever from the slow cooker. And then went to the gig and had a whole bunch of different people making a point of coming up and chatting to me (and complaining I don't make a point of letting them know I'm around when I go somewhere).

Oh, and I've got one booking in November and one for New Year  - which is great because (although I worried I was being a right egotistical b!tch in thinking it), the guy they had got in for a couple of gigs I would ordinarily have done, he didn't like the music, was slightly out of tune, out of time, didn't have his heart in it and was drinking quite heavily through the set. So much so that he hadn't bothered learning one of the essential numbers at all.

So I guess the obsessive rehearsals to get absolute perfection, always turning up on time, with spare kit, knowing the set plus an extra couple, loving it all, whatever the music and being stone cold sober every gig (until I come offstage, at any rate) has finally paid off :)
