Hoarding...not just on TV

I might have another receptacle for decluttering to....the fella is looking at a flat literally just round the corner from me...
I have already earmarked;
the futon
a wardrobe
chest of drawers
bedside cabinet
tv table
half the crockery
half the cutlery
half the glasses
90% of the bedlinen
a ton of towels
a chair
Two sets of curtains
All the nets
a vacuum cleaner
a couple of lampshades
and anything else I can [strike]palm off[/strike] donate to him.
He just has to like the flat and decide to move in.
I naturally haven't said specifically how much I am planning to donate to his new flat fund, but he sounds happy at the thought of not having to buy absolutely everythingI could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Jo-Jo, that sounds like a plan!0

I just bought back my mixing bowl
£1.50. It's for a good cause being Hospice Care.
We take the view that if we are meant to have something it will still be there when we go back for it
 I was stitched up by a CS in the week, I reserved an item from the window display, for DD's birthday, they wouldn't sell immediately because the display wasn't to be taken down til a set day - they rang me up to say I couldn't have it because they'd forgotten it belonged to one of the staff - yeah, right, in the window with a price tag on!
I have been amazed how quickly I can deal with random boxes of carp as I find them now (usually stuff I scooped up when someone was coming and stashed out of sight) - I can quickly see "yeah, that's not the sort of stuff we want in this house nowadays" and bin without looking back, in seconds - hey, it's gaining momentum so stick with it guys, only a couple of weeks ago I was despairing, so you can get there too
Anyone else up early because cats don't understand British Summertime? :rotfl:You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -
Rofl blossom hill. My cats don't care, they are still in bed, but the dogs want out always and livestock want the longest day possible, so we ignored clock change.0

Oh yes! Our old cat has just discovered the joys of schnuggling under the duvet with us which was lovely until one of the other cats almost walked over her as they didn't know she was there!0 -

A pal had a cat which liked to slip under the lower edge of the duvet and sleep by his feet. All very cuddlesome and lovely but this cat would get bored after a couple of hours and then, with no preamble, bite down hard on his big toe.
I think they sometimes just like to see something so much bigger than them scream and levitate!Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Thanks BH, I was ridiculously happy to see it there. It's not like it had sentimental value and I only paid something like 50p for it at the recycling centre. But it's a good quality one. Now, how do I get my log basket back now that I need it. :rotfl:
Not very nice of the CS to lie like that. I hate the window displays that say you can't buy until they are dismantled. What are they selling for?? A charity or just so their window looks good. I don't buy from the displays at all. Bl00dy silly.
I was being extremely efficient last night with the clocks, until lying in bed I thought, hang on, I've put them an hour forward!0 -
Cor this cleaning malarkey is hard work!
Went to the tip this morning (was there before 9!) but forgot to take saucepans.
Got a bag full to take to the charity shop - cunningly have put it in the very useful large lakeland bag which is just destined to become Richard otherwise!
Got the upstairs quite reasonable, just needs hoovering now then to make a start on downstairs...
On the plus side I have pulled everything out of the bathroom to clean and I am now considering what really needs to go back, what can be chucked and what can be put away for later use. I hate cleaning the bath as there is so much stuff to move, most of which doesn't get used from one week to another!
Right, back to it!0 -
I found something festering in the utility area. You know how you get those horrible little fruit flies, well they kept appearing and I kept looking but didn't find anything. Decided it must be the onions (in a special bag) so took them out of the bag, and then noticed what the bag had been hiding, an envelope with something I meant to plant in the summer.
No idea what it was as it was evil. It's now in the bin and I hope the pesky little flies will now die off.
Tidying and getting rid of old stuff from the kitchen cupboards. Why did I think I needed 3 bottles of chilli dipping sauce (AF) (2010!) when I don't care for chilli and there's only me anyway.0 -
TNow, how do I get my log basket back now that I need it. :rotfl:
I found a sealed pack of chewing gum in a drawer today, put a piece in my mouth and it went to powder - best before Oct 2010! Eeeew!
I really wanted to use the garden shredder today but decided it's too noisy for a Sunday - but it may have drowned out the child up the road who was screaming "daddyIdon'twanttogotofootball" nonstoop for most of the afternoon
Don't forget anyone who has stored wood; bonfire night coming up so can derichard it to a local one or burn at home with clear conscience, I got mine ready today (aspirational garden arch and pet hutch) as I am going to 2 bonfires this week
and I popped to M&S and attracted the attention of a foreign lady by putting loads of Sheba into my basket - I hope she understood my mime that it is NOT good to eat!You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0
