There is now space in one of the cupboards to store the bargain snow shovel I got from am***n as if we need to dig a path to garage or drive then it is no good if the shovel is in the garage..
I wonder how many people haven't considered that possibility?I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Anyway, their children have been helping clear the house and outbuildings today. They have managed to donate the best part of a transit vans worth of clothes to the local charity and have filled a house-clearance truck today (Think flat-bed truck piled 6 foot high ).
I would never imagine that there was room in a modest sized house for that much junk, and junk it was: random bits of broken wood, plywood sheets, rubber piping, carbdoard boxes, rotting wooden boxes etc.
It was in the loft!
I've just seen THIS on the British Gas site while looking up loft insultation - for anyone over 70 this could be a good way to get the loft cleared before end Nov! :rotfl:
I think you may live near me as I have just watched a 2nd van arrive at a house nearby where an old chap died - or is there just a lot of carp about! You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -

Jo-Jo, Hope your DD's BF is definitely gone, understand how you feel. Although I have to say, you don't sound old enough to have a DD at uni! Hope that comes out right...
Another plus for me, a client said they would pop around with key and dind't immediately go into panic mode trying to think of ways to put them off. I actually said, that would be fine...
Every time I go into the kitchen now I have a little frison of pleasure seeing my pine cupboard and the difference it makes to me psychologically and aesthetically. (sp)0 -

It was in the loft! The loft was actaully made into a 4th bedroom many years ago and became Mr Neighbours office once the children had all left home. It was strictly out-of-bounds to Mrs neighbour, so she didn't know what was up there until he died, she nearly passed out when she saw it all!
And I am not near you, I'm on the other side of the country, but I think you are right and there is ALOT of carp about :rotfl:.Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

I think DH has probably stored the "man shovel" in the garage
I considered explaining the logic of when the thing would be used and where it should be stored but decided to save my breath!
Plodded out in the cold to get the kettle I had seen in charity shop but it was not there:eek: Might have a look on bargain sites for a kettle and can always make do with a saucepan if I have to.
Hug to all"This site is addictive!"

Our snow shovels and salt, grit and sand are in the downstairs utility room. I usually move a bag of grit to inside the front door when the snows arrive and also two of our old rag rugs. These are absolutely ideal for putting under car tyres for traction in snow, I think every one of our neighbours borrowed them in the big snows two years ago. There's also a spade and two rugs in each of the cars in winter along with all the rest of the emergency kit. Multiple clutter can come in useful sometimes!Val.0

Our grit Nd snow shovel are in a barn.
'virgin' snow is less slippy, so we can usually walk out to it ok, safely over the grass route and with more care over the in turfed areas (very hazardous concrete and sort of gravelly type stuff here) As for grit, we grit the night BEFORE the forecast for a heavy freeze in rain or wet weather, because of the animals. We grit a bout third of an acre of concrete farm yard, then just a very thin path out to there, because if it's raining the salt gets washed away, and the salt is helpful!0 -
