Thanks BH for the tip, and thanks again to LIR for mentioning perfume as I am now determined to wear what I have until I find my perfect scent again. I did come across one a few months ago, it's a newish perfume and I found a sample or was sent a sample, and loved it, can't recall what it was now though. It was a top brand name and probably priced about £30 + so if anyone can think of it let me know please.

Idris, at first I thought oh no, a cow hide, but then I thought I am being so hypocritical because I've had leather suites and of course shoes. Are you having a black and white theme, what colour is your Italian leather suite?
  • Ha ha Byatt I like that! The sofas are black leather and we are painting one wall red so should look good with that and the cow!
However seeing as the cow is currently covered in discarded pyjamas, football cards, cookbooks and various other detritus then maybe it wont be the stunning minimalist haven I aspire to :)

Sounds fab, Idris and being a dragon, red is a perfect choice of colour. :D I must admit I love soft leather, it's so sumptious and will last a lifetime.

This is the perfume I was thinking of
Est!e Lauder Sensuous Nude Eau de Toilette

Funny, just read it has musk/wood tones which I love (I used to wear Opium).
  • Right I am off to light a fire, have a bath, eat my weird meatballs/root veg/other veg/stock and wine casseroley thing I have shoved in the oven and watch the bake off final.
This is instead of going to the AGM of the PTA. I said I would go along and maybe become a member and Do A Task, saw them all in the playground today and none of them asked me if I was coming cos they are all cliquey boogers and listening to their conversation they have already earmarked which Uber Mums are getting which job so they can kiss my hide :)

That means you would have got the really cruddy ones, like sorting the wee stained spare clothing from the jumble donations, organising bin emptying/recycling for the Winter Fayre and suchlike, nothing involving being in contact with other human beings at all.

You're best off out of it. I spent one Christmas Fayre all by myself in the kitchen making tea and coffee for hundreds, did not see one member of the PTA all day, never even got a toilet break and had to clean the kitchen, the hundred or so cups and the urns, as nobody bought paper cups, both before starting up and afterwards. I wasn't available ever again.

I'm tired as ever, so putting off the mad rush to vacuum-before-the-nurse-comes and have been watching various movies.

My, oh my, was Prometheus rubbish! I didn't realise that the addition of copious quantities of dermal filler and cheek implants rendered anyone capable of springing around like a little lamb three minutes after a Caesarian section.

Sounds like a much better use of your time :D

Had quite a productive evening yesterday with organising the wardrobe and starting a new charity shop bag but tonight has just involved vegging and reading the forum

Still, I have decided that I will buy the mirror I saw at the weekend which matched my bedroom furniture (matching furniture, get me :p) so I need to clear the top of the chest of drawers for it to live on. And I won't buy it until it is clear so I have motivation to get everything tidied away / sorted / thrown out /rehomed.

Going to see the family this weekend (yay :T) so that will involve me taking lots of things out the house (I stock up at Costco etc for them), unfortunately it also means some AF stuff in :o

Have been doing well with the using stuff up from the freezer - only 2 partridges and a wood pidgeon in, lots of stuff out :rotfl: so am pleased with the progress overall.
  • Hi all! Loads of great decluttering going on. :T My OH drools when the steam mop ad comes on lol, hes determined to get one! It does look good but im sceptical and it would probably end up wherever the Dyson is! :o Talking of perfume, my fave and the only one that doesnt make me itch is a Lee Stafford one that is now discontinued! :( Luckily I got a few bottles in Home Bargains. :)
I have made headway in my bedroom, its still full of so much junk but its a bit easier to look at! It was definitely like Valk_Scot said, like digging away at a mountain using a teaspoon!! Still the rest to do, oh and the rest of the flat pfft. I have arranged a viewing with the lady for some time next week too (as I didnt get round to photos :o) so it all needs gutting and all doors/woodwork painted. I feel Ive given myself a stupidly big task to do by next week but if I dont just do it NOW I feel Ill just drift along forever doing a bit here and there, finishing one room but its goes back to normal whilst doing another room etc...We'll see if I can do it! OH will do the horrible jobs like cleaning the toilet/oven/fridge and mopping (cos Im rubbish at it) but he gets so harassed decluttering that its better if he just doesnt help!
Hope you feel better soon JoJo. xx

If you miss how Opium was before the reformulation, try Cinnabar by Est!e Lauder, it's a dead ringer for it.

Me, I am 23 but I wear Shalimar by Guerlain and not the new version either! I don't like sweet/food-type scents as perfume, I like spices and incense and vetiver (I love vetiver!).

Lucky escape I'd say. I was chair of our PTA for a while and it's a lot of work for precious little thanks. Though thanks isn't really why I did it. You do get a good idea of what is going on in school and some say in how the money is spent. I was a member from when DD went at 4 to when DS left at 11 which was a total of about 10 years. I was happy to give it up and have never bothered at the high schools - was sick of it by then.

New carpet coming today :j so I really should be picking up remaining underlay and hoovering the floor boards. Then we can put the furniture back and be a bit more organised. Not too much decluttering since half finishing the office of doom - at least all the clutter in there is now contained in the filing cabinet so I can't see it.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
