Thanks for the suggestions, OH has 3 drawers of socks and admitted today some could probably go so that's progress. I also have several pairs of wool socks I just don't get along with but there's nothing wrong with them, so they are bagged up.

Plan is to go through the wardrobe in the next week or so and get rid of the clothes I don't really like and never wear. The ones I bought because "they'll do" or they were like what I was looking for but not quite.

I have bought myself some new clothes (some were not even in the sale!) and I love all of them and feel good wearing them so why hang on to clothes I don't love and don't feel good wearing?

    Definite progress in mindset.
  • Yay!

One set of grotty, horrid, nasty, vile meds down (evil antibiotics that gave me such tummy pains that I can remember labour being less traumatic), just the new scary meds to go!

Went out last night to a gig a friend had organised. Instead of being at the front, myself and The Fella perched on the soundstage at the back like a pair of garden gnomes. Of course, had to mow his face and head before we went there..... :) which was easy because I had cleared a box of crud from my bedroom, so once I convinced him that it was a good idea to let me loose with the clippers, there was plenty of room to work around him in front of the dressing table.

I did, however, notice the blonde who was the support act kept giving him the glad eye during the interval . As did he, so he bounced home afterwards [sigh]. She might not have felt the same had she seen him looking like the Thing From The Badger Sett at 6pm :D

Back to feeling rubbish today, but that should ease off now I've finished the antibiotics. Have done absolutely nothing today other than eat and watch TV. Which is going to continue for another 45 minutes whilst we watch another show and then I'm crashing for the night.

    Hope all's well here!

Val I totally sympathise on the warhammer front..he has that too :rotfl: well his room is done for now, still needs a few tweaks and the chest of drawers done but it'll do,he has a floor!

Still have my bedroom to finish properly, the kitchen and the lounge but all bins emptied today so can make a bit more headway.

Have rehomed quite a bit of useful stuff and donated a fair bit to the school the only stuff going in the bins is really old tat only I would find useful :o

I can't get used to seeing the cupboard top clear when I walk into the kitchen though its never been empty in 12 years!

The end is in sight with DS's room which is just as well, he'll be back on Friday and I'm busy tomorrow and Thursday. DD and I are at home today, we're going to make the innards of her birthday cake for Thursday so we can decorate it on Wednesday. So while I'm still fiddling around in DS's room she's boxing up her own room for her move. The actual outgoing of rubbish from the two rooms has slowed down quite considerably though. Which is good, because that means most of it has gone already. There's still a lot of stuff of course but it's stuff I/they want to keep rather than just have lying around cluttering up the place.

I am wondering what main area I need to attack next, while I'm waiting for DD to go on her trip. My wardrobe, the lounge, the attic...no, not the attic! Bookshelves in the lounge sound straightforwards, I need to keep some enthusiasm for DD's bedroom!
    Val.

Big bag to charity shop today. :T Mainly books but I included 2 pairs of brown jeans that I don't like - like you say bought because they were like the thing I wanted. SO I am on the lookout for a pair to replace them but will wait till I see the exact sort.

Definitely more out than in at the moment.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Today off, but I think I might continue tomorrow on what I can without dh. I was annoyed to find some used toiletries put back in his draws taking up room, so asked him to bish them.

Mean while, I threw away the boxes of a beautiful perfume he used to buy me and is now discontinued. (to my dismay). He fished them out, because he knew I dithered over this. My suggestion might bet keep ONE of the boxes and bottles. I used to keep used perfume bottles, not I am not sure why, unless it is a remarkably beautiful bottle, it takes up room a new perfume could!

lir, try phoning Selfridges in London for the perfume. The one I like is only available from there or Harrods as a classic scent. Costs a bomb though!

Oh, I know it's not made any more, I got two bottles last year ina. Clearance from somewhere. Meantime, I have chosen what to move on to next, which is through space nk so quite available, but also costs a bomb. :o
  • I hate the way perfume companies decide to just stop making a perfume - they stopped mine and that was my smell, almost my identity

lir, you are lucky to have found one to move onto (well I could move onto Sisley but my purse won't let me!)
